How do I get rid of my son's cradle cap?

My 2.5 month old son has cradle cap that doesn't seem to go away. Does anyone know a sure way to get rid of it?

  • Thank you!
  • I mixed coconut oil and breastmilk. It makes their head a little greasy but worked like a charm!
  • I put a lot of Vaseline on my sons head where the cradle cap was really bad at night then put a tight baby cap on then the next morning took a soft brush and it came right off

I put coconut oil on my daughter hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. I comb through her hair then I wash it with head and shoulders...
  • Vitamin e oil at night right after his bath. Came right off
  • Get a brush with natural bristles and use after his bath
  • I used the coconut oil soon as I put it on I got a baby's tooth brush and brushed the area, left it on throughout the night next morning did the same thing and just washed his head as usual and it went away. If it's bad you could use vinegar an water. Not to strong but let it sit for about 15 mins or so then wash it with regular baby shampoo.
  • Our pediatrician recommended baby oil. It works like a charm. We put it on before bed each night.
  • We used the olive oil trick once and it did help but mainly just let the shampoo sit in our daughter's hair for a minute or two before rinsing and then combing right after. Haven't had any cradle crap since!

I also use baby oil and shampoo to wash it away, but they keep coming back. And I met another problem, my baby likes sucking his thumb and hand, so I am worried that he will eat baby oil when he touches his head and then sucks his hand. Is any other mom having the same problem?
