Trying to Get Pregnant

Negative test.

I have been off bc since August. My last period was Feb. 21. I am now 10 days late. It has been 39 days since my last period. I took 3 test, all negative. I swear though I feel different. I have been feeling super nauseous and I am having mood swings like crazy. Any chance I am pregnant?? Or something else? I do have an appointment Monday with my doctor.

Re: Negative test.

  • If your tests are negative, you're not pregnant. And if those were pregnancy symptoms, you would already have a positive test.

    Cycle lengths vary.

Please don't waste your doctor time, that appointment is completely unnecessary.

  • Sorry I asked. I have never had this happen before and I am very anxious.
  • Hello. Im sure you are anxious , but the answer to your question is the same as everyone else's. Try lurking around or searching the board for your question. Negative test means not pregnant, even if you have a million symptoms. I hope you can learn something from this board, but if that's not what you're looking for, I wish you luck

  • @27alex @TheBorg7of9 I feel like this is not a place with uplifting attitudes. I get that you are just stating the facts, but I would also think that someone that is also TTC would be a little more sympathetic to people that want this just as much as the next person.

So what should they say? 'Omg you are totally preggers!'?
I don't want any one to sugar coat shit, I want honest real answers back by science.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • @PugsandKisses I did not say that. What I am stating is that their tone is condescending.
  • No it is not. Condescending is 'if the test what negative, then you are not pregnant. Or can't you read the box? It says it right there?'
so enlighten us, how would you tell OP or any of the 20 plus threads a day that post a million symptoms but with a negative pregnancy test?
    Thank God for Raid.

You can tell my tone through what I'm typing? You must have super powers.

Her question is a direct violation of the terms of use. I gave her facts. The test is negative, she's not pregnant. That is a fact. I'm sorry but I'm not going to tell her to go decorate the nursery because her test is obviously lying to her.

Please lurk, this is the board. We deal with science here. There might be somewhere else that's a better fit for you.

I'm not sure what bullies you're referencing? I have found this board nothing but helpful and supportive, especially from the two ladies you are accusing of being bullies.

Maybe you should look up the word bullies. bullying is a serious issue. This is not. True bullying means you can not escape. You can leave at any time.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • @MorciaCowart1, we aren't allowed to suggest other boards on here ... and I'm sorry you are only finding bullies. I only see honest and straightforward women. To each their own I guess. I know there are many other sites out there and I hope you find one that makes you feel more comfortable.
  • Oh look, over and incorrect usage of the B word again.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I'm here to uplift people by sharing my knowledge and experience on ttc. There are many sites (I can't recommend because it's a violation of bump rules) where you can analyze your phantom symptoms, but here we talk about the truth. When I was ttc, it was helpful for me to know that if the test was negative then I can't have symptoms from pregnancy. I was trying to help you. Sometimes answers may get a little terse here. But truthfully, it is because it is frustrating that people post the same question as has been asked multiple times a day and don't bother to read any other threads before they post. Anyway, if you want to learn about cycles and how you can best time sex for pregnancy and when you can reliably test for pregnancy, then stick around and learn. If you'd rather talk about phantom symptoms (no shame, we all have them) any other ttc site will suit you. I wish you luck.

  • I apologize for creating friction. As I'm sure all of you know it is very stressful TTC. You get words of wisdom thrown at you from all directions. Some good, some bad. After reading several threads of "phantom symptoms" I can see your frustration. I will admit when I am wrong.
  • @PugsandKisses I did not say that. What I am stating is that their tone is condescending.

See, the problem is that no matter how someone on here answers that question and how politely it's put, we still get people who come and say that the person was rude or that this board is full of bullies.

I have LITERALLY seen someone say "I'm really sorry, I know you're anxious, but if the test is negative that means you're not pregnant at this exact moment. Keep testing though, because it may just be that you haven't ovulated yet or that you haven't had implantation yet." And two posts later is someone saying that the person is condescending and bullying and rude.

Look at Borg's post. She sympathized with the poster, wished her luck and pointed her in the direction of more information that she could read. But still, she's "condescending" or "a bully".
  • Also, if you think the board is full of bullies now, you would have HATED this board six months ago.

And I hope the Bump Gods can see that clearly, their plan to drive away all the "meanies" and "bullies" has resulted in the exact same complaints that were here before, with a whole lot fewer page hits and a much diminished community.

It happens. You really will find this group to be incredibly helpful when it comes down to important and useful information!

:-h over here waiting for an apology for calling me a bully!
  • @concreteayngel I am not the person who started this discussion about being 10 days late.

@27alex I do apologize. Bully was not the right word to use in this situation. I do realize there is no "light" way to put the point you are trying to get across.
  • Apologies @rlbean1987. It's usually the OP that gets pissy in these types of threads lol. Should have paid more attention to the usernames!

It does get tiresome reading a new thread every day where someone asks in a roundabout way if they are pg, and then get mad when someone gives them some reality.

I am in a similar situation. My last period was also Feb 21st. I am currently on cd40. I would be thinking my period was a week late if I hadnt started temping. Now I realize I ovulated on cd 33 and now Im patiently waiting for a BFP or more likely AF. (Missed my fertile window) I only started temping mid cycle but Im glad I did! Thanks to the advice from TB! Looking forward to starting over next cycle with this useful info.
