Are you curious about your baby's gender?

Hi ladies, I was wondering if any of you had used the Chinese gender chart with previous pregnancies and how accurate is it? This is my third pregnancy and have 2 girls so far, so now my curiosity is really sparked. :)

I'm thinking about doing some of the old Wive's Tales, and keeping track. Just for kicks. I heard that with girls, you have more severe morning sickness, and since I have only been vaguely nauseous and haven't been sick, I'm thinking maybe a boy?

Edit: I just checked the Chinese Gender Chart, and it says boy. We'll see!
Baby number 1 on the way!

  • You won't find the gender of your child out until well after they're born. Finding out the sex is quite exciting however to me it doesn't matter how my child pees.
I personally don't find old wives tales fun as they are only accurate 50% of the time but if you're into it go for it.

Oh I know, it'll just be interesting to see what they tally up to be. :)

As I said, if you enjoy it go for it! I've heard of some really odd things like women peeing in baking soda and if it fizzes it one sex and if it doesn't it's the other. Sometimes I wonder if pervs make some of this stuff up just to get pregnant women to do IMO gross things.
  • Some places test early im having a gender reveal party at peek a boo at 14 weeks and they have never have never been wrong so I'm so excited due to the fact that I have a boy so I really want a girl but will be happy either way as long as baby is happy and healthy
  • Man i'm so curious I can hardly stand it. My 3 year old keeps saying it's a girl. I'm hoping for another boy so I can re-use all of his stuff. >.< BUT if it's a girl i'll finally be able to get some of those adorable dresses that i walk by every time i clothes shop for him.

This is where I'm at. I'd rather just wait for the anatomy scan. I have two girls also.

I could care less about the SEX of my child. I am more concerned with health.
  • Yeah I just want whatever the baby is to be happy and healthy but I just want to see what it's like to have a girl
  • I never listen to wives tales I tried basing it off heartbeat with my son cuz his was high and he was a big boy
  • I used the chinese gender predictor based on mothers lunar age at conception. It was right for both my boys, this time it says girl, so we will see. although it really doesn't matter :)

I'm definitely going to play around with wives tales. Why not?! (Chinese calendar says it's a boy)

But I prefer not to find out. We'll see what my husband wants - haven't discussed much since we're early on.

@Amstreagle - agree. The gender and so much more will be revealed in time. I don't want to over-gender or start putting some kind of expectations in my mind before this little person is even acting on their own. Not advice to anyone else- just musing. And besides... I'll probably want to know when we're on #2. For now, the mystery is fun!
  • I feel like a kid in Christmas Day with the big wrapped present. I'm so excited about what's inside that it doesn't really matter what it is because it's the best present EVER.
  • All the old wives tales and the Chinese prediction table were wrong with my first born (what's the chance of them all being wrong, lol), so really...pay them no mind.

  • I'm curious as my husband is a support worker and one of his clients is a medium - his client had a vision of my hubby with a little girl on his lap a couple of months before I got pregnant! So we'll see if it is a little girl... Exciting!!!
  • A few old wives tales tell me it's a boy! But we'll wait to find out for sure. So exciting to find out on delivery day.
  • I definitely want to know, but I don't care about finding out early. I have a daughter already so I think it'd be nice for her to have a sister but it'd also be nice to have one of each. I really don't care either way. I don't know exactly when I conceived, just that it was right around my birthday so I can't go by the Chinese gender predictor lol
