Baby Names

Help with girl name!

Due June 9th with girl #2... Our first girl didn't have a name when she was born because DH and I cannot agree on anything! Although we are both supposed to be working on lists, I more or less make the lists and he vetoes what's on them. So I need fresh names for him to cross off ;)

DD #1 is Julie Evelyn.

Julie because neither of us hated it, and Evelyn for my grandmother's baby sister who passed away very young.

I prefer to stay away from another name that ends in an "ie" sound, but it's not a deal breaker. I don't like names that can be turned into nicknames. I like feminine, pretty names that are classic but not too overdone. Something you don't hear every day. A few I love but he doesn't (or I can't use because someone else did): Jocelyn, Gemma, Charlotte, Moira, Clara, Ava, Madeleine, Chloe, Amelia, Lorelei. Names he likes but I don't: Penelope, Francesca... (We are not "Francesca" kind of people... Ha).

I go through list after list and apparently I am just super picky. So please, suggestions!

  • WDYT of Annelise? What is the actual correct spelling(s) of that name? I have no idea. What sources do you all use to look up a name's (and it's spelling's) legitimacy?

    Behind the name.

And I do not care for that name. Ever since someone pointed out it looks and sounds similar to "anal ease" I can't.
