Hello mommies or mummies to be :)
My name is Kim and I'm expecting number 5. EDD Is Nov 28. We are very excited!
I'm creating a closed group on Facebook for us pregos only. I have had been a member in a past on a closed fb group for may mommies back in 2012.
That group was amazing, loving, so supportive and we are still in contact with our sharing our little ones!
Facebook groups, I have found to be so much easier to upload photos and videos also. If you are interested of being a part of this group, please type in your fb name in this thread and I will add you to the group.
FYI this group is completely private. You have to be a member to see the post.

    For some of us, it can be a PERSEC issue, and in general FB opens a can of worms that allows for stalkers and psychos.

    I'll wait to join until 2nd tri at some point. We started early like that with my previous BMB and it didn't end well.

    Are you kidding? Hopefully you don't have a LinkedIn account or anything with your job online. Anyone can google your name and location and the possibilities are endless. Addresses, jobs history, any registries you have. I guess you don't mind sharing that info which is fine. I personally work for the government and don't want anyone googling my name because of the line of work I do.
    And if anyone googles your name, it will take them to this forum. I don't want anyone knowing I am pregnant yet so that's the last thing I need.

    I work in the news business and with a name I can find out a lot about you. I track people down and find out a lot about people for a living with very little information. It doesn't take much these days. I don't even use my real name on Facebook.
    In my last group we didn't even go to FB until the babies were born. By then we had weeded out a lot of people and we are a very close group.

    Same. My last bmb didn't do fb until the babies were born and the board was "established".

    Not to mention that there are some not very nice or trustworthy people who use these boards. A few years back there was a bumpie whose husband was a confirmed sex predatator. She somehow managed to gain her BMB's sympathy and a bunch of them sent her money. The truth came out and it was ugly. You really don't know who you're dealing with and need to be careful.

    To me I don't want to be in a group on FB with a bunch of "strangers." By the time the babies are born, or even 3rd tri, you "know" most of the women better. I've met half the people in our Jan12 FB group in person now too because we have get togethers.
    We started with just under 200. It's down to 60 now and we still talk daily 3+ years later. But if you open a group now there could be a thousand plus!

    Do you guys remember the mod who collected the money for the girl who had a late loss and stole it and bought a glider with the money? She then posted pics of the glider and boasted about how she bought it with the money she collected from the other bumpies! It was crazy!!

    Dude that was my old BMB june 2012.... it was so awful. She was a NASTY lady too... very very nasty. Why people felt bad for her at all after all the cruel and hateful things she would say to all of us still confounds me. All that made me never go back to my BMB and almost not join this one. That's why I give a serious side-eye when people start to get nasty on here. It makes me feel like some crazy BS is going to happen all over again.

    I need to know more about your opinion of Linked In, the purpose of that site is to business network so why would you not out that info out there to those who are in your "network"?

    What she's saying is a creep from here could search your name on LinkedIn and then know where you work and find out a bunch more info about you.
    These boards are not private anyone can see what we post.

    I was a part of the group with the member who's husband had a record and part of the gifting. It was June 2012 and it really messed with a lot of us. It happened after we thought we weeded down the group. We still are on Fbook but in much smaller numbers; it was really terrible and we all felt betrayed...because of that I think it's best to wait until babies are born and we know more about each other...there's just too much personal information on Facebook.

    No I don't want creepy people finding me and networking with me. I don't use LinkedIn anyway with he line of work I do however I wouldn't want strangers seeing where i worked and having access to my co workers and boss. People can be really crazy.
