Pregnant after a Loss

TTC after miscarriage

I miscarried last week, I was 5 weeks along in my pregnancy. I miscarried naturally, my bleeding was like a heavy period and 5 days ago my hcg was already at 3. I really want to try again right away without waiting for my next cycle but my OB told me to wait. Has anyone not waited and had a successful pregnancy?

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I would wait like my doctor advised me to. I know it's hard but they suggest waiting for a reason.

You will see different Drs give different recommendations on here, that is because they know their patient and history. Follow your Drs advice.

Thank you, my gut is also telling me the best thing is too wait one cycle :)
  • Take your doctor's advice.  Waiting is hard, but you're better off not putting yourself at risk for more potential heartbreak.

  • Absolutely follow your doctor's advice.

I was given no restrictions on waiting to try, they said go ahead. I personally was not mentally prepared to try again for a good six months, even though we did try after a cycle off.

  • My doctor gave me no restrictions as far as waiting. I miscarried on New Years Day at 5+ weeks, same scenario as yours. I'm now pregnant again and so far so good... But very very very early. If my doctor had told me to wait I would have.
  • So sorry for your loss. I too miscarried last week at 6weeks 1 day but the baby stopped growing at 5weeks 1 day and I miscarried naturally as well. After 6 days I finally stopped bleeding and me and my boyfriend started trying as soon as the bleeding stopped. I have heard that if you had a regular period before getting pregnant then you can ovulate 2 weeks after the miscarriage so hopefully it happens to me. I was always regular so I'm hoping that I conceive quickly as well. Baby dust to us all! I hope you get your BFP soon!
  • Sorry for your loss and congrats on your BFP! How long did it take you to conceive again?
