Subchorionic bleed

anyone ever have bleeding that didn't end up being a miscarriage? The doctor said it could be a subchorionic bleed and I can't get in for an ultra sound until Wednesday. The bleeding isn't super heavy, more then spotting though, and no cramps. Trying to feel hopeful!

Re: Subchorionic bleed

  • Just had an ultrasound today due to bleeding/spotting that occured Friday and Saturday..which was terrifying, of course. A small subchorionic hematoma/bleeding was found. To be honest, nurses were not overly concerned. It will most likely be dissolved naturally back into the body or be passed out. I was told to take it easy and to not lift heavy things. Overall, they do not see this as a threat of miscarriage. If you look up this condition online you'll drive yourself crazy. There are good posts and bad posts. Odds are things will be just fine. I have an appointment next Thursday and will ask additional questions just to verify all is OK. ..ultrasound also showed a growing baby with a strong heartbeat of 155 ;) keep your chin up!

  • I had this with my son who is now a healthy 13 month old. They're fairly common and nothing to worry about even though seeing pink spotting is enough to make your heart drop (I miscarried my first pregnancy and then that happened my second pregnancy so I flipped). Good luck!
  • Was diagnosed with it last week. Don't worry about it, it's pretty common and the #1 cause of pregnancy spotting/bleeding.
