I've been getting constant headaches for the past week. When I asked my OB eating and drinking lots of water was suggested. I was told I could take 2 Tylenol Extra Strength every 6 hours but not to exceed 3,000mg in a 24 hour span of time. Also, I find that when possible, napping really helps! Even a quick 30-45 minute nap. I took a short nap at my mom's tonight due to a crippling headache while I waited for my brother to stop by with tylenol. Apparently I was the only one in the house who used Tylenol so my mom no longer keeps it in the house!
I've recently started getting headaches too. I was the type of person that before pregnancy had a headache almost every day. When I got pregnant...they disappeared! It. Was. Glorious. Now they are back I'll have to try the almonds thing. Tylenol/naps have been my saving grace.
I had a headache that turned into a migraine since Thursday. Thankfully, it went away this morning. The thing that helped me the most was to put a cold ice bag at the base of my neck, and a weighted bag on top of my head. It finally allowed me to fall asleep. Sometimes, there is no relief and it's just a waiting game. Hopefully they start to subside soon!
The first week I knew I was pregnant I had headaches every day. They went away and now 4 and a half weeks later it is back. Have been holding off all day on the tylenol, but I don't see this one just going away.
I've been getting headaches too. It looks like my nausea has been traded in for headaches. I try to take Tylenol as a last resort, but I woke up with head ache this morning and took two right away. I was at work and started to get another one and had a muffin and a decaf mocha. It went away. It's weird but I'm not even a major coffee drinker but the little bit of caffeine and sugar seemed to help. Maybe I'm not eating enough. Gonna bring it up with my OB next visit.
I am a headache sufferer pre-pregnancy as well and I swore by Head On. Yes, those menthol stick things that you rub on your temples. WORKS. WONDERS. Whenever I get a bad headache migraine, I pop two advil/aleve (or Tylenol now) and rub Head On all over my forehead/temples. Then I rest in a dark room/place and wait for everything to work. It does smell mentholy but it really really works for me. I haven't used it since being pregnant but I'm going out to buy some since I've been experiencing headaches as well.
I got tension headaches frequently while pregnant with DD. I found caffiene helped. They make Tylenol with added caffiene specifically for tension headaches. You might want to try it.
