Anyone betting on having a big baby? My youngest was 9lbs 3 oz 21.5 inches. I pushed that big boy out and even with an epidural it hurt like hell! Wondering if this baby will also big big?
My son was 9 lbs 7oz, head circumference of 38.5 cms !! He was 22 inches as well !! My Dr is sending me to see an obstetrician at 7 months to see if I can have this baby vaginally as well ! I'm praying I can do another vaginal birth !!!
My last one was 10 pounds, 11 ounces...vaginal delivery, no pain meds. 30 minutes of labour and just got to the hospital just in time to push. His head came out fine but shoulders were stuck and they had to break his arm (bone between elbow and shoulder) to get him out. They will closely monitor Baby's size the last 4 weeks of this pregnancy -weekly ultrasounds, if baby gets over 8 pounds they will induce. I am trying to avoid a c-section.to me it is a last resort. This is my 4th baby. I have had 3 vaginal deliveries with babies that were 8 pounds, 9 pounds, and the last was the 10 pound, 11 ounce turkey.
This is my 1st & im 5'11" & was 9 lbs...fiance is my height too. Everyone in my family is quite tall so those that I've shared with are already joking that LO will come out the size of a 3 month old. Fiance says between his fat head & my lack of hips ill be forced to have a c-section which im praying for a vaginal delivery!! (
I'm guessing at least 8 pounds, possibly closer to 9. But I'm also hoping I won't be 41 weeks and hopefully that will help. I really, really hope this baby is under 9 pounds. DS was 9 lbs 8 oz. and had a shoulder dystocia. Thankfully he came "unstuck" and I was able to push him out, but ouch, that was not fun. DD was 7 lbs. 14 oz. and born two days before 40 weeks. If I go past 40 weeks, I'll be getting nervous, because babies grow so much at the very end.
@nsaid4u, you're amazing! That's a big baby. How far along were you when your 3rd was born?

My 6' hubby was a 6 lb. baby! Don't worry too much about a big baby just because you're tall. And some tiny women have successfully delivered big babies vaginally . . . you never know what your body will be capable of!

My first was 8lbs 15oz born csection for suspected "big baby" over 10lbs. I'm still pissed over it. I'm going to VBAC this time and I'm guessing this one will be a big baby too.

They broke my sons collar bone to get his shoulders out !!

I would of been pissed too, But they were just trying to find a safe alternative !! they kept telling me my son was only going to be 7.5-8 lbs I said there's no way I'm huge she said don't worry only 8lbs ! I was shocked when he was 9 lbs 7oz !
My first was 9lbs 1.3 oz and my second was 8lbs 14 oz. My doc had never expressed concern over size, so I'm thinking things will go along as normal. Hoping for another 8lb'er.
DD was 9 lbs 1 oz, 22 in long at 40w5d. I needed an episiotomy and vacuum extraction to get her out at the end but I made it through. No one told me the baby was big until I was in labor! For two years DD has consistently been in the >90th percentile for height and >80th percentile for weight. I guess DH and I just make big babies!

I had an episotomy too, and a bunch of stitches haha ! My Dr never used vacuum or forceps, they started to lose his heartbeat so she broke his collar bone and I pushed and she pulled, she was calling for a section after she cut me ! But thank god by the time she got a hold of the surgeon and room prepped my son was out
My DD was 9lbs 13oz! I had a 3rd degree tear and am super nervous about that again. I had GD and was induced at 37w3d. I am taking my GD test soon and hopefully won't have that problem again but know the posibiliy of it happening again.
I was never given an estimate on my sons weight either and I wouldn't say I was bigger than normal but I remember feeling very heavy so I thought he might be big I just didn't realize how big. My son has always been 90th+ percentile for height and weight too and was super chubby (which I loved!) until he started walking now he is average size. I think I just make big babies lol
I was 10lb 6 at birth and my husband was 10lb 1..... so we were not surprised when our first son was a whopping 10lb 9! We haf no idea he was going to be so big as we had an average sized bump.... he was just super long. We were expecting this (second) baby to be on the chunky side too..... that was until we discovered we are having twins this time (much to my husbands horror!).... so we will have these a few weeks early by an elective section (as they are identicals sharing an amniotic sac and placenta).

My son was always in the 90% percentile for everything too until he got about 2 years old !
My nurse practitioner did a pelvic exam at my 12 week visit and said if I have a small pelvis and if I have a 9 lb baby I'll most likely need a C section. Soooo not what I wanted to hear! Now I'm going to be worried for the next 6 months!!
