I lost my mucus plug. Should I stop inserting evening primrose oil???

I went to my 40 wk check up yesterday and my ob did a membrane sweep on me. She told me I would experience a little spotting but nothing happened. I went out and purchased epo and inserted them instead of taking them orally seeing as how it trashes two weeks to be effective orally. 2am my mucus plug came out. I can't say if it was the "sweep" or the oil. I do want to try the oil again though. Is it safe for baby if i do another injection since my mucus plug is gone?

sorry this got cut off when i tried to write via mobile! The main concern with any vaginal insertion would still be of an infection so just make sure you are washing your hands thoroughly, etc. The other thing is that 2 weeks orally may not be correct - I have never heard of a specific timeline associated with this but you can safely take more than what is on the label if you are trying to get things going. good luck!
