Nausea Easing

My symptoms are getting better to deal with but I'm only 10w2d not yet in my second trimester. I've also had dizziness. I was wondering if anyone else has had this yet? Should I go to the hospital? I'm a little worried.

Re: Nausea Easing

  • Dizziness can happen. Make sure you are drinking enough water and eating enough. Dehydration and low blood sugar can cause dizziness. I had spotty vision this morning that was really messing with my head, but after sitting down and pounding a glass of water it went away and I felt much better. If you are really concerned I would call your doctor. They have people on call to answer your questions. The only reason to go to an ER would be heavy bleeding. Everything else, you can usually just call in about. As for nausea easing, I don't know if I have much to offer. I chew TUMS on occasion when it's really bad, but you can't do too many of those since they are medicine. I've heard ginger can really help, that's why people like to drink ginger ale. Other than that I don't think I can help. Sorry! I'm battling some bad nausea myself. Good luck :)

  • I get dizzy too, usually when I stand after sitting for a long time or if I bend down to pick something up. Keeping hydrated has helped and having a steady arsenal of fruits to snack on. I never had nausea. I got lucky in that aspect! I hope you start to feel better! And I email my doctor about EVERY NEW SYMPTOM lol she's quick to answer and reassure me little jellybean and I are healthy.
  • As suggested by a dula, I've been trying the following, due to a lot of nausea: eat something every 2 hours. It doesn't need to be big, just something. During the night, assuming you get up to pee twice, eat or drink something with calories each time you wake. I've been drinking almond milk. If you don't get up to pee, she suggests setting an alarm, which seems like a bummer. You'd have to weigh what you value more- sleeping through the night or bring rid of nausea. The nausea is very normal. I agree that you should also make sure you are drinking enough fluids. Best of luck!
  • I have been having a tough time with the dizziness and nausea too. I carry snacks with me all the time. Gatorade has been very helpful to keep my blood sugar up especially at work. Water makes me nauseas... I also carry starburst or gum to chew on when I get super dizzy and sit down for a bit it usually helps. Hope it gets better.
