My stupid question: am I the only one around here who is getting annoyed and jealous of hearing about how far along everyone is, especially the 38&39 week ladies that just have to make random threads about it. I'm at the end of April and it's just killing me hearing how close they are :-t
I'm jealous of the people who have had their babies already ugh I just want to be done lol no offense but getting so anxious but I have a quaint Does anyone else seem to be really itchy and irritated around the labia? I was on meds so it said that was a side effect but wth ugh u can't take it anymore I'm getting seen on wed so they will run all the tests to see if it is a uti or yeast I hope not
I'm also jealous of those who have had their babies! I'm due on Thursday though so hopefully he/she will come sometime this week! I'm hoping we have an accountant or two in here with this non-baby related question.. Are there any new homeowner tax credits? I know there was one a few years back, but when I went to do my taxes online it didn't mention anything about it.
Baby T is due in 10 days. My friend who was due 6 days after me had her baby last Sunday. We are incredibly excited for them! I had to laugh because I'm supposed to be high risk for pre term labour. Our bags have been packed, freezer meals made, and we have been ready to go since 34 weeks. It was completely unexpected for them so they were not prepared at all - but that's how it goes! We passed along a freezer meal
@juliaandpatrick. Disclaimer: I'm no accountant. But I believe you need to itemize to receive that credit. The interest you paid on your mortgage should also be a huge deduction for you. We paid to have ours done this year bc we bought a home last year, and knew we weren't smart enough to maximize our refund.
I'm due at the end of April too and as much as I want the big day to arrive, I keep reminding myself that soon enough I will be complaining that she is growing up too fast
Okay here is a stupid question. I was looking up how to not get a fat face during pregnancy because at 37 weeks it's slowing starting to happen. Anyways on a bunny trail I read that if you don't have much fat then you have a harder time breast feeding? Anyone know if that part is actually true? Just curious
Yes this is true. This is one of the primary reasons why you gain fat during pregnancy (even a healthy one, with minimal weight gain). Really what this means in terms of practice is that you can't be underweight (low body fat percentage) and expect to be successful at breastfeeding. If you find yourself dropping below pre-pregnancy weight, and you were normal weight to begin with, it's recommended you increase your caloric intake to allow successful BFing to occur.

Ha! Yes! I have a c-section scheduled for the 21st. So, while it is nice to have a definite end date, I feel like I'm in a completely different realm.

I'm not sure about this. My sister is tiny (her baby is about five months old) and is down to 104 lbs. She only gained 16 lbs because of gestational diabetes. I don't believe my niece has had a drop of formula. She is also going through some major stress right now and still manages to nurse on.
I, on the other hand, am heartier. I was a healthy weight prepregnancy, but always gain 50 lbs. I haven't had any trouble nursing either. My face is definitely rounding out, but I'm not sure if it is fat or fluid.
My mom did mention to me though that my sisters milk (pumped) looks like skim, while mine is more on the whole milk end. I think as long as you are ingesting enough calories post-partum to support the expenditure you should be ok. Might be worth a call to a LC though.

This is not true, at least not for everyone. With my first I weighed only 115lb at 5'6. I gained 30lbs, but lost all but 10lb within 2 weeks and I successfully breastfed for 14 months. I never experienced low supply. I am 36+ weeks with second and this time around I have gained about 20lbs (although I started out at 130) And I started "leaking" 2 weeks ago. I hope it works out for you! Defiantly don't stress yourself! You have to take articles that claim "____ is always the case" with a grain of salt because everyone's bodies behave differently!
The amount of weight you gain has nothing to do with how successful breast feeding will be. I was very sick during our first 2 trimesters and have just recently started gaining weight. My doctor said I'll end up weighing less when I leave the hospital than what I started at and has never mentioned that being an issue for me breast feeding.
