Im not sure if its only me or what but everytime i take my prenatal pills i get a headache or sometimes my stomach starts to hurt and i eat before taking them idk am i the only one
@TaunishaLopez any drug store has them. They do not have iron in them so if you are told you need that you can take Flintstone complete vitamins. Yes the kids vitamins haha I take those.
Along the lines of prenatal vitamins, how much iron does yours have? I was put on additional iron supplements around 8 weeks but my levels were still low at my appointment this week. My suppplement has 325 mg in it but my vitamin has only 23. Is anyone taking a prenatal vitamin with more?
Don't take them on an empty stomach as when I did that it bothered me. I take mine (I have the Up & Up brand from Target) right after I eat breakfast and haven't had any issues. I've also heard that drinking milk beforehand helps, but everyone's different.
@kjs08 yeah i dont take them on an empty stomach i always take it in the morning with breakfast but i still get headache and my stomach ache but its not for long like the headache and stomach issue last for a few mins then go away and i wish i could drink milk but ugh i cant but i think i want to try the gummie form of the pill
I have to eat before I take mine. I'm taking Enfamil's Expecta prenatals and 200 mg daily DHA. I would take PP's suggestion and try the gummies. I had to eat those for awhile myself.
I have a prescribed pill for the nausea so I can keep the prenatal pull down, or else it just comes up and there's no point in taking them when I'm not getting what I need out of the them. The gunmie version is much better
I have to take the gummies. I tried a normal pill with a lot of iron in it and they completely mess up my stomach. First time it was all night diarrhea like I had a stomach bug, second time was throwing up all night. The fact that both happened after taking those pills makes me think they were the cause. No more of that! I'll stick to my gummies!
Oh man, I was doing the gummies first and all that chewing made me gag and they tasted fine! It was strange.
I have to take an additional iron supplement and then stool softeners to counteract the *ahem* effects of the iron pill. They still mess my stomach up even if I eat and no matter what time I take them. I've accepted my fate lol
