May 2015 Moms

actually april.....

My due date is May 2nd but my doc will take baby at 39 weeks.

My son came on his own at 38 weeks. (Water broke and he was breech) so c-section it was......

Wondering if this baby will come on it's own.................?

Re: actually april.....

  • What is the reason for taking the baby early and not just waiting until you go into labour? If it were me I would not be ok with that but I don't know the situation...

  • No one can answer that for you.

If someone actually can, would you mind also letting me know when my baby is going to come? It would make arranging childcare for my oldest much easier.
  • I thought that if the 1st baby was a c section then the next has to be as well. ? I had a coworker say this about her experience. Not sure if true

Not true at all. Lots of people have vaginal births after c section (VBAC)

  • Not true, I am currently a VBA2C. There are a lot of factors that go into whether or not you require a repeat C/S

  • This baby will be a c-section. Already scheduled.

I wasn't asking anyone to tell me if she will come early. More of a hypothetical question....maybe another Mom has gone through the same or similar situation.

  • I don't want to have baby early. But I will be having c-section. From what I understand most doctors take baby a week early with c-section.

Depends on ur doc and hospital. Most hospitals will not allowe u to have a baby vaginally if u had a c sectio. There is a lot of risk wile ur pushing baby out ur c section can open up! Also doctored can take the baby out as early as 3weeks depending on ther scheduling! If they were to wait till ur water broke it would most likely be considered emergency c section! They consider baby full term at 37weeks! Baby will come when it's ready or they say it's ready I'm going I my third c section and didn't have a choice in any!
  • My sister recently had her third c-section and they also scheduled her it a week early. Baby stayed put until then.

My comment wasn't in reference to you, more to the misconception that you can't have a vaginal birth after C/S. Also if your water breaks it isn't an automatic emergency c/s, lots of women labor before a c/s, it's not always considered an emergent c/s. I wouldn't worry about it. It's completely possible you can go into labor before 39 weeks and you'll just pack up as normal and they'll prep you for your c/s or allow you to labor if you change your mind. Good luck

Slow down on the ! It makes everything you say sound scarier to FTM than it needs, and it's not accurate or likely. Rupture is incredibly unlikely. There is actually (from a medical standpoint) more risk with repeat c/s than with a Vbac.
