Back aches and Charlies Horse

So for the past 3 nights I have had an aching back which I figure is normal with the growing baby and my body adjusting to carrying the extra weight. Well the night before and last night I have been having severe aches in my knees and a shooting pain in my right then left calf which we all call charlies horses. It wakes me up in a dead sleep and causes me to kick my husband for help. Pour thing has to wake up at 4 in the morning for work and can't get enough sleep because of my crying and kicking. Was wondering if any of you have had similar situations?

Re: Back aches and Charlies Horse

  • The back aches... I can't take it and I still have 23 weeks left. But I had back problems to begin with, so I assume I've got it worse than many because my old back pain has just multiplied.

  • A teaspoon of mustard will relieve it immediately. It's an old sports trick my stepdad taught me and works. A heating pad will help with the back pain and end in an ice treatment.
  • That sounds awful. I haven't had a charlie horse since I was about 15, but I remember that it made me cry.

I haven't had anything like that or back aches, but I do constantly get cramps in the muscle of my butt cheek and it's the weirdest thing ever. It doesn't really hurt, but it's become a thing where I'll start yelling "oh no my butt is cramping again X_X" and my husband sits there and laughs at me.
  • OMG, I've had Charlies horse for a couple of months now. I wake up 3-8 times a night, depending & I hate it, haha. Bathroom, calf aches, bad backaches, bad dreams. I have it all ._.
  • Prenatal yoga. I was getting horrible back aches, so I started a 10 minute prenatal yoga video series on youtube and it's really helped!
