CLEARBLUE WEEK ESTIMATOR INCORRECT? ????

So my lmp was 2/6 thru 2/15 im extremely irregular and just got over a misscarriage Nov 12th. According to lmp in about 7 weeks. Took clearblue weeks estimator and i says that according to hcg leves i ovulated about 2-3 weeks ago which means i ovulated approximately 26 days after my period. Im scared that my hcg levels arr going down but hoping my dates are wrong. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: CLEARBLUE WEEK ESTIMATOR INCORRECT? ????

  • Last day of ttc was 2/28. And i had what i believe to be "implantation bleeding" on 3/11

  • Don't use HPTs to test HCG levels! They are ineffective after a few weeks, and based on your lmp, wouldn't be effective for you anymore.

  • It means 2-3 weeks after conception.
Then you add 2 weeks to that, usually, to know how far along you are.
Typically you go by your LMP until you get a dating ultrasound. But using your LMP only works if you have an exact 28 day cycle.
If you're irregular you likely ovulated later, which means you won't know your true due date until you go for an early ultrasound and can't exactly go by your period date.
  • Don't use HPTs to test HCG levels! They are ineffective after a few weeks, and based on your lmp, wouldn't be effective for you anymore.

Completely agree! Stop testing and wait for your scan. You can't do anything about it and stressing is not good for the baby!
  • I agree with the above. My hcg was well over 20k and mine only read '2-3'.
  • Also the only options are 1-2 weeks or 2-3 weeks... They don't go higher.
  • Despite people saying not to, that's what I did and they were right on track, mine went to 3+ weeks when it should've. Just an extra layer of reassurance.

They do go to 3+ weeks.

@marleybunny I agree with everyone else. Those tests are a horrible way to go about figuring out your betas or if your betas are increasing like they should. Lots of unnecessary worry goes with those tests. Here's the beta info (going completely off memory but you can google "clearblue digital weeks estimator hcg levels" and find their official site which lists it...assuming this is the test you took):

You'll most likely get a "1-2 weeks since conception" if your betas are higher than 20 and less than 250.
You'll most likely get a "2-3 weeks since conception" if your betas are higher than 250 and less than 2600"
And you'll most likely get a "3+ weeks since conception" if your betas are higher than 2600.

That's still a really big variation and I can tell you from my last pregnancy and the only one that has been so far successful (as I made it full term and didn't lose my baby) I would have still been getting a "1-2 weeks" at 5 weeks pregnant or 3 weeks after conception. My betas were just under 200 at 5 weeks....and no i was not off on my dates as we did IVF and I know the exact minute that conception took place!

Don't give those tests any credibility. They're for entertainment only but I don't know who finds them anything but stressful!

Irregular periods are the worst! So I feel your pain. My last started on Jan 2, so my doctor thought I was around 11 weeks and scheduled an appointment to see the baby.

There was nothing to see, I totally cried because I thought something was wrong. Then he explained that since I'm irregular I probably just ovulated late and that I'm probably more like 4 weeks along.

Now I get to go see him every week until he sees my little one so he can pinpoint my due date.

Try not to stress, but I totally am too so I know it's hard! My estimator I took yesterday confirmed his idea that om only 4-5 weeks, so it helped me feel better.

    Hang in there!
  • I got my BFP on feb 23rd and it said 1-2 weeks but I hadn't had a period since early January lol. (Breastfeeding so irregular periods)
I get to go on Tuesday for a dating scan and finally get a due date. The doctor brushed off the clear blue weeks estimator and said they aren't very accurate so I won't know until this dating scan.
