UO Thursday

Lets hear your unpopular opinions...

Mine is that I really hate Peeps and Cadbury Cream Eggs. They are the most disgusting of all Easter candy. If you put them in my basket, I will cut you.

Uh yea cadbury eggs and peeps are disgusting. Yesterday i saw peep marshmallow flavored coffee creamer. GROSS!

@Bliss+Berry you're my hero! I was waiting for this thread to start, we need to do WTF Wednesdays as well as Monday Bitchfest... we also need Stupid Sh!t People Say - cause dear god a already got a couple maybe I'll start that one...

My UO I'm tried of seeing 20 posts about the same damn thing... USE the search function first please

  • I hate peeps also. Even more disgusting is that I saw an ad for Peeps milk. *I think I just vomited in my mouth a bit*

  • When I was little I loved peeps. Now I think they are disgusting, but my parents still get them for me every year. I don't have the heart to tell them that they make me want to vomit, especially now!
  • I love peeps like no tomorrow, always have.  I like the cadbury eggs, but they are so rich I can't finish one.

My UO's are really nasty and elitist so I keeps them to myself. :D  Just rest assured I'm a horrible person, lol.

Also, I love chicken.  I was told most women have an aversion to chicken when preggers but I really don't see why.  In fact, except for low appetite in general, no aversions at all.  And I feel a little guilty about it, like "I'm not suffering my fair share!  Everyone else is having a horrid time and I've over here happier than a rat in a cheese factory!"

  • OMG lulamagoo so do I!  Also (and may the wrath of the liberals strike me down) "Baby daddy."  I'm sorry, but that phrase makes it sound like you have no relationship with this guy and don't know if he's going to stay in the picture or not.  I know some women have said they use that phrase to try to be cute, but I can think of much cuter things to say that don't imply that creating that child was his only involvement with you.  Though I can do one better, my mom calls my biological father, "the sperm donor" because he just donated the sperm and high tailed it, lol.

  • I hate peeps. I hate whoppers. I hate Robin eggs.

I normally love love love Reese's anything but can't deal with the sugar right now.

The bloat posts are annoying. For me the twin posts annoy me, unless you are actually a twin mom or having twins. Double the symptoms don't mean anything.

And the I'm having a baby so let me work from home. No sweetie, you still need childcare.

I hate any form of the use "prego, preggers, preggie, etc". Nails on a chalkboard for me. If you use them, you just dropped a few points in my eyes and I probably won't take you completely serious. For real, it just killed me to type those. You are pregnant. No need to call it something silly.

This! I can't even bring myself to ask where to find preggie pop drops in a store!
Luckily, Lemonheads carry no such stigma for me. lol

Let's see, I also HATE peeps and I want to meet someone who likes them so I can ask why! I ALSO hate the abbreviations of preggers, preggo, etc. I also HATE when people find out I'm pregnant and ask what gender of baby I would prefer....dude I don't care as long as it's healthy! What do you expect me to say, "Oh it has to be such and such a sex or I will be so disappointed" just no.

  • I have an aversion to all sweets right now and I'm so sad because it's Easter time and the candy is some of my favorite.
I need to just eat one Cadbury egg and one thing of peeps every year. Then I'm done.

My UO is all the paranoia. Yes, we all have fears. But the constant questioning of symptoms or lack there of gets really old.

Also - the need to turn everything into a party. No one cares as much as you do. Maybe the grandmas, but that's it. Every single part of pregnancy does not need to be celebrated. It's an amazing exciting time but no one cares half as much as you.
I wish gender reveals and big pregnancy announcements would go away.
  • My UO is that I think it's so annoying when people use text speak in their posts and don't bother spelling things out. I don't mind the standard Bump abbreviations but all the short hand and overall poor grammar drives me nuts.

I also hate peeps and Cadbury eggs ;)

I hate this too so bad, it reminds me of something a tween would say and automatically makes me think that they need to go post over on babygaga.

Gender reveals and 2nd showers make me want to vomit.

Since food is also a hot topic here, I hate fast food.

  • My unpopular opinion is that I much prefer the new rules on here. Are some posts repetitive? Absolutely. I'll take that any day over the way many posters used to act.

I was on here back in 2008/2009 with my son and it was the same way. I came back a couple times when we got pregnant and miscarried but would quickly leave when I saw the tone of the site. I think this might be the only actual unpopular opinion in this thread.

  • I doubt they are googling it since @Bliss+Berry spelled out exactly what it stands for in her post. Even if they are don't really understand why that is funny or something to make fun of.

  • I don't really have an UO but think all of you are great and funny this post totally put a smile on my face today. I find myself agreeing with most of you things I didn't realize annoyed me totally just realized are annoying as all get out. Also anyone else annoyed by the sympathetic looks when you go pee again. Really people I would pee this much not pregnant if I was forcing 90 + ounces of fluid down my throat so save the look every time I take a potty break.
  • I hate it that we can not just make updates on one thread instead of making a new one for everything.. I hate peeps to they are so nasty..
  • Blasphemy! Are you guys insane? I love Peeps and soooo glad they make them for every holiday now. Of course the big show will always be Easter. I rarely have an UO. I can be pretty "basic bitch" sometimes but Im happy to join in and comment on your all's UOs.

Can we also get FFFC started tmrw?

I don't know if I've ever seen actual attacks/bullying (I'm sure it's happened, just I've not seen it ) . I only get on once in a while, but in my opinion there is a big difference between being blunt, with a little snark to actually attacking or bullying. Just my opinion though and what I learned back in the day on Ttc board.
I didn't use the word bullying or attacking but I gather from your post that you think I did. Maybe you were just speaking more generally.

To be more specific, I have always felt that the PSA type posts were as much of a problem as the repetitive ones. I just didn't like reading those rants. I appreciate the kinder tone here now, although I have no intention of asking any questions better saved for my doctor ;)

Another thing- people really need to stop with the word bullying. No one is being bullied. It's an injustice to the word to say you are being bullied on here. No one is making anyone stay or continue to post. You are free to leave at any time. Innocent people are being bullied every day around the world and for people to use that word on this board is disgusting.

Because someone does not agree with you and shares a different opinion DOES NOT mean they are bullying you.

You didn't quote me so I realize you may not be referring to my post. Maybe this is just an uo you are sharing.

I am the only one on here saying I prefer the way the boards are now though, so I feel the need to point out I didn't use that term. As I said previously, I feel like the boards were as inundated with these PSA rants and "you aren't showing" posts as they were/are with repetitive question posts.

  • I think there are some incredibly thin skinned people here - and I do believe there is a prevailing attitude that any hint of disagreeing is automatically some personal attack.  I blame our culture and our schools - these days with all this PC everything offends everyone bullcrap.  You can't talk about anything controversial without people losing their minds.  What happened to debate?  Like two people, with educated opinions, talking about an idea instead of resorting to "that wasn't what I wanted to hear - must be a bully!" lol

Note, though, I wasn't here for the 'snarkier' version, but I think I woulda fit in nicely, I do have a bit of a snarky streak myself, lol.
