Trying to Get Pregnant

Endometrosis

I was just wondering if anyone else here has endo? I do and am terrified it will create complications, I had the laperscopy in 2003 and was put on BC to control it. I have been on the BC since Feb 23ed this is my first TTC. Are there any special question that i should ask at my appointment on the 7th? I have been having annual ultrasounds to make sure nothing is growing where it shouldn't, I am 9 dpo hoping that all goes well with everyone here. I understand the fear of not being able to conceive. I hope this thread isn't all over the place just feeling a little emotional:( Good Luck To EVERYONE!

At 19, they suspected I had it, and one doctor wanted to chemically enduce menopause. I have never ran from a doctor so fast in my life. College and hot flashes just wasn't what I had in mind. I got a second opinion, and she said the only way to truly prove it is to have a laparoscopy, and since that can also be a procedure to aide with conception depending on the hypothetical growths, she said she didn't want to do it until I started trying AND was having difficulty conceiving. As of today, we are starting our fourth month of TTC. I have learned a lot in my last three cycles and am positive that I had poor timing and bad luck. My mother had endo and had a complete hysterectomy at 21, but I know times have of course changed a lot and know that -if I do have it and do have issues conceiving- there are options available for me. I wouldn't worry about it, really. Worrying fixes nothing.

  • Hi there, I was also suspected to have endometriosis around 16 to have it confirmed with a laparoscopy around age 19. I was put on bcp at age 16 to help with the cramps and irregular periods. Over the years my cramps have gotten to the point that I don't even need pain meds during my period (while on BC) but decided to go off it last month after being on BC for 15 years. I'm not TTC yet but not really preventing either. I started charting and temping to gain a better understanding of my body and even though I'm on cd 30 without any sign of ovulation or af I'm just trying to remind myself that this is why I went off BC and not to be disappointed yet. My ob said not to even think about it effecting TTC until 9 months of trying without success. I would just focus on learning your body and cycles so you are not always wondering.
