I'm due April 1st, w/ a boy. I went to my doctor today, & was told to be 3cm dilated & 90% effaced.. If little man isn't here by Wednesday the 25th, Induction starts 7am.!!! Anyone that has been induced, what was your experience??
I'm not high risk. But I've been losing a lot of mucus lately, & spotting. My doctor told me that with me being 39 weeks Wednesday, she can induce me.. (which was my choice) or she said we could ride it out until he decides to come. I choice to be induced because he is soooo* low & i'm just ready to meet him, I feel like I've been pregnant for years.
yes, also curious to know why! especially since i am also due April 1st w a boy and was also 3cm and 90% effaced last wednesday. I'd love to know what their reasonings were, thanks!
Once you hit 39 weeks with my doctor, & you are dilating & what not.. She will induce you. Otherwise she will only induce you for medical reasons. She said today at my appointment that she was surprised to be seeing me.. Because at my previous visit she had said the next time she'd see me it'd be at the hospital. She's expecting baby Larenzo to make his appearance before Wednesday.
I'm high risk only because I delivered pre term with my son. Obviously this round is not a problem. However since bp is fine and everything else is within normal limits, they won't induce til after my due date. My OB does not think I will make it that far since I'm 3/4cm and 100%.
I was induced with my first. I was 38.5 wks, 5cm and 100%. They took a chance inducing me because my mother had 9 vaginal deliveries, all in under an hour. They didn't want to chance me delivering at home. Started pitocin (contraction pain started to hurt like HELL!) at 5. At 5:30 was 10cm. Got a very quick epidural. Broke my water at 5:45. My son was born at 5:55. They will induce me this time also (my third baby) at 39 weeks for sure if I don't go since I had my 2nd even quicker (and preterm at 34 weeks). It's comforting to know baby will be delivered at the hospital and not in your home, so hang in there and stay calm. Good luck!
I was induced with my first, by choice 2 days before my official due date. I had a good experience with it and I liked that I somewhat knew what would be happening, I knew when things would start and was kept very well informed throughout the process. I am being induced this Thursday with my second (also by choice) I will be 39 weeks by the Dr's charts, however by my own charting I'll be 40 weeks exactly. I am beyond ready to meet the new addition, and I've been so uncomfortable recently that just walking is near excruciatingly painful. Good luck to you momma!!
My doctor will also induce you at 39 weeks per choice if you have dilated. I'm 37 weeks today so hoping at my 38 appt I have some progress! I don't have a personal experience, but my sister was induced per choice at 39 weeks and didn't have any trouble or a very long labor! Good luck to you!
Re: Being induced!!
I'm due 4/9 and I'm 4cm and 100% effaced and my induction is not scheduled til 4/14 (if she doesn't come on her own)
