Well since my name is Olivia I will share that until highschool I was simply Olivia. I actually prefer it to any of the nicknames that friends started to make for me. Liv is what my close friends from highschool call me but that is it. My youngest sister (now14) came up with a list years ago of all the names she could call me. Liv, livvy, Olive, Olive oil, ollie, Oliviosa (think Harry potter wingardium leviosa for pronunciation) I've also gotten Olive Garden. It's up to you but Olivia is such a beautiful name on it's own and you will always have a theme song for her! (YouTube Olivia the pig theme song)

Thanks so much for this feedback! That is definitely something we may consider. Love your name btw
Daughters name is Olivia. DH and I call her Olivia. My brothers call her Liv. My mother calls her Livy Loo Whoo, the littlest Loo in Looville. Yup that happens. For the most part everyone else ( teachers, neighbors, friends...) all call her Olivia.
My friend has a beautiful daughter named Olivia.... my favorite nickname for her is Liva... it just 'fits' her... something will just 'stick' w/ your little Olivia!
I don't think you need to push a nickname though. My daughter is Evelyn. We chose it because we love the nickname Evey (pronounced with a long e at the beginning). We rarely call her Evey, mostly we call her by her full name.
Vi. My little one is Olivia but she prefers vi. She is 6 now, and that is how she introduces herself. It is truly a beautiful name that can be fun and fancy!
In a book I just read to my class (Wonder, by RJ Palacio, amazing book for any age btw), one of the the main characters name was Olivia but she went by Via. My friend whose name was Olivia went by Libby. My friends daughter goes by Livvy or Liv. Great name.
