Losing ALL the hair!

My goodness, my hair is falling out in insane amounts these days. I remember it happening with my other kids but I swear it wasn't this much. When I brush my hair, the sink is full of hair, I'm picking it off my clothes all day and my shower drain is surely going to be clogged soon!

Anyone else started experiencing this yet? If so, how long did it last?

Re: Losing ALL the hair!

  • I had the same problem with my first son but it didn't happen until I stopped breastfeeding. It only lasted about a week don't worry you won't lose too much!

  • I forgot about that. I'm really enjoying my thick hair...I guess while it lasts. Lol.
  • I have a receding hairline like a 65 year old man right now :(
  • Same here! I am finding hair every where!
If I remember it only last a month or so and then it levels off to normal.
  • I'm still breastfeeding and it's falling out like crazy. This has been going on close to a month now so hopefully it tapers off soon. I normally have insanely thick hair(thank goodness) but I definitely notice a difference. Hurry up hormones, back to normal you go!!
  • Lol I just had this conversation with my hubby yesterday. I have to clean out the brush 3 or 4 times while brushing. I am freaking out. Hubby thinks I can stand to lose some.
  • This!!!! I was not expecting my hair to just fall out so much. I knew that after hormones level back out that women lose some but the amount I've lost is just ridiculous! I've cried over it because my hair is naturally fine and thin so the thickness I had is gone and my hair just looks sad now ._.
  • It's driving me nuts!! It's been falling out for over a month, and as a self proclaimed neat freak, I can't stand finding hair EVERYWHERE! Sometimes it's even in my baby's diaper! My hair is thick, but at this rate I am sure to be bald.
  • Mine started like three weeks ago!! I hear it tapers off six to 12(!) months postpartum? I do miss my thick pregnancy hair!
  • If it takes that long to taper(6-12 months) I WILL be bald! I have a receding hairline and it scares the crap out of me. I have(had) super thick hair but with the amount I'm losing, there is no way to maintain that.

And yes, it is everywhere. My poor kids have even found it in their food. Ewwww!!!
  • Ugh yes. I guess I expected it to happen sooner, so somehow I thought I lucked out? But no. Also, it just blows my mind how hormones affect hair growth. I didnt have to shave my legs or armpits for like 3 weeks after birth - the hair just stopped growing. I had hoped it would last forever but alas...no luck.
