Ugh spotting

so I've been having dark brown spotting off an on today with some mild cramping. But I don't know if hats real or me making it up by stressing out about it. I'm working now until 7am and just praying that if something does happen it's not til I'm on my way home. I should have called in but thought I should save that if I have something catastrophic happen. I'm trying not to stress but it's hard. :(

Re: Ugh spotting

  • Try not to panic. Similar thing happened to me. As long as it's not a strong red blood colour it's actually pretty normal. Hard to relax but it's just your bubs getting settled in. Hope that helps

  • Fingers tightly crossed for you! Praying all will be okay.
  • I think the thing that worries me the most is that I had a uterine inversion with my last baby and my uterus came out inside out with the placenta. So now I am paranoid that it has messed things up. But I am already feeling better than I was a few hours ago. I think I was just making my stomach hurt from anxiety, that's Been known to happen.

    Thanks for the well wishes.
  • I had some brown spotting too today but I kept reminding myself that brown means old blood :) good luck!
  • Hi dear, it should be fine, like the girls said it should be old blood, baby settling something like it. My sister had actual bleeding when pregnant, went to the emergency and ended up that she just needed to rest and relax with the anxiety, now she has a perfect 7 years old daughter ;) xxx
  • I have had brown discharge and mild cramping for the past few days. Very hard to not panic! Hope you can rest and relax after your shift. :)
  • I understand how scary this is. It happened to me a few weeks ago. Go to the hospital and they can check you out and give you peace of mind. Thankfully baby was ok. They said it's reasonably common in the first trimester. Doesn't make it any less scary. I hope everything is ok and this is your only blip in the road.
  • I would call your doc asap. Only because I also spotted at around 5 weeks and through us found out there is a blood clot between the placenta and my uterus. It's not always a bad thing that it's there. My specialist said that many women have them and they most likely reabsorb into the mom. But KNOWING why I may spot until it's gone relieves the anxiety of seeing the spotting some. I like knowing why, that way I can stay calm and give my baby a stress free environment to grow in. Good luck! P.s......We're still pregnant and on our way to a Nov. Baby!
