Intro and uterine hemorrhage

Hello ladies! I have posted here before but not for a few months. I am currently 33 weeks with a baby boy. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with hemmoraging after delivery? With dd, I experienced uterine hemmoraging and came close to losing my life. My Dr assures me they are prepared for this, and that I will be fine, but I can't help but have some anxiety about it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Intro and uterine hemorrhage

  • I'm sorry that happened to you! That is definitely scary. Although I don't have any experience, I have a friend who experienced the same with her first, and has had 3 babies afterward with no problems. I hope the same for you! But I can certainly understand your anxiety.

  • This happened to me with my second pregnancy and scared the crap out of me and I'm 33 weeks also with a baby boy hoping and praying it doesn't happen this time.
  • I don't have experience with this, but I'm consumed with anxiety about it! Did you doctor mention anything you can do to help avoid a hemorrhage during delivery?

  • My Dr has put me on iron supplements. Also he has said that he will have the medicine already drawn and ready should it happen again. He seems to think my hemmoraging was caused by the incompetent staff of the other hospital allowing me to have such a long labor. My daughter was 9 lbs 5 oz and got stuck in the birth canal. Her shoulder was nearly broken and was born with a dislocated hip.
  • OMG! How ridiculous! That sounds so terrible for you & baby! I'm hoping this labor and delivery is much much easier!

How many mgs of iron are you on? My doctor told me I could take one but didn't mention how much.

They found a group of blood vessels early in the pregnancy that they were concerned about a hemorrhage with me. But at 20 weeks, they said they couldn't find it anymore so it's likely gone. So they aren't preparing for anything bc they're not concerned, but obviously- I am. :/  They just assure me if anything happens, they will handle it. Sigh. I'm just a control freak and over plan everything, so it's hard to not be able to make all the decisions here.
  • My son was also 9.5 and they said it's possible it could of been his size that caused the hemorrahging. I'm too taking iron supplements.
