It doesn't feel real, yet

hi all,
I am almost 7 weeks along and have my first appt on March 31. I have symptoms and all but it all just doesn't feel real to me, yet. Anyone else feel the same way? Or did you feel that way until you got an ultrasound? Maybe seeing is believing?

Re: It doesn't feel real, yet

  • Im 6w5d and I still don't believe I'm pregnant. Little to no symptoms and no u/s yet.

  • 4w5d and definitely does not feel real yet! Few symptoms that come and go. I guess it will feel real after the doctor'sappointment

  • Same here! I am in disbelief and scared at the same time. I also haven't had any symptoms. I was sick with my first so I feel like I'm waiting for it to happen. Although I'd be totally fine bypassing morning sickness!
  • Same here! Can't wait for my March 30 appointment!

  • Same here! 7w3d I feel tired and my boobs are so sore! But other than that I feel normal. I want to do normal workouts and stuff but I am afraid too.
  • I'm 5w1d and it still doesn't feel real. Dr. did an ultrasound the other day just to see if he could see anything although he knew he wouldn't and all he saw was the sack. Even after seeing that and getting my hcg results, it still doesn't seem real. I have a dating ultrasound on the 31st so we can hopefully see if I'm right on my math on how far I am.

  • Didn't seem real w/ my last pregnancy until I felt him kicking
  • 7 weeks today and I've had terrible m/s, still can't wait for my first u/s for it to be more real though.
  • Ha! My DD is 19 months old and sometimes I still look at her with such awe and wonder that I still can't believe she's real!

We saw this baby's heartbeat yesterday and even with m/s I still can't really wrap my head around it!

  • It's very normal in the first trimester to feel this way. Both myself and my DH are still not 100% convinced that it is real. Waiting to hear the little nuggets heartbeat to se if it clicks in my brain!
  • I've had two u/s and have seen the heart beat and sometimes I'll go a couple of hours (basically an eternity in pregg life) and not think about being pregnant and then remember, oh yeah! I'm so ready for it to feel real!!
  • 6wk and 4 days....I am obsessed with being pregnant! It's doing my head in! It's all I think about constantly. I have 2 children 16 and 12...so it was a while ago. Anyone got some ideas for distraction?
  • I'm the same as well. 6 wk 4 days by my calculations :) I don't get into the Dr until 4/14 (I think I'll be 10 weeks then) and I don't think it'll really hit me till then. Or until I start showing. I don't have any symptoms really other than sore boobs and very tired. Glad to know I'm not alone :)
  • It didn't feel real until we had the first ultrasound two days ago. Now the hubby won't stop talking about it :). Also, we haven't told anyone yet so it will feel real once we clue in our families!
  • I'm also 7 weeks, have my appt on the 31st, and still can't believe it. My fiance made fun of me last week because I bought a fourth.. yes fourth... pregnancy test because it still doesn't feel real! Happy and excited to say all four were positive =) I'm sure it will really hit me at my appt - especially if we can hear the heartbeat.
  • I'm 7 weeks now, I had an U/S at 6 weeks and three days. Barely got to see my baby's home and a yolk sac; didn't search for the heartbeat yet. Just relax and enjoy for now, don't stress yourself out this early. Everything, God willing, will be okay. Stay positive, after you go to your fist doctors appointment your heart will fall into place. :)
  • It never feels real until I can feel the baby move around! I remember with my first, at the first ultrasound, I thought it was a recording. (Not really...) I couldn't believe it was my little peanut! It's just so surreal. It's very exciting!! I can't wait to feel this baby move around.

It even affects my sleep usually I would keep right through now I'm up a 4 am ready to go for the day a amend just lay there and that's when the thoughts come.

So jealous of you all who have appts so soon. My doc wouldn't see me til April 22nd. My husband thinks it's crazy how scared I am that it's not real or that I'll miscarry. What can I do to calm my mind til then? Also, I feel like I have a GUT already. No weight gain but the belly is climbing out over the jeans. Does anyone else have this yet?

yes I have this gut thing already. Sure bugs me I hate going out like that. Invest in baggy shirts and make your own style ;-)

  • I was feeling the same way yet now that I sit here bawling while watching say yes to the dress I realize there's no other explanation hahaha
  • ok you are not alone. def still feels unreal, i will be 7wks this wed. my appot is at weekd on April 1st. i hope its not an april fools joke! hahaha... this is my second and i was able to get an early U/S with my first at 6weeks so i already heard heart beat and saw the image on screen so it felt alot more real. the only thing that feels real this time is the constant peeing, the waves of nausea, shortness of breath and eating mac and cheese and donuts like theyre going out of style. hahahaha..

  • I've seen the heartbeat and it still doesn't seem real. Just feels like constant nausea
  • You are not alone- I'm 5w5d and have had a couple symptoms- sore, full boobs and tired. But the past few days I have felt great. I am still walking everyday...but I wish I had more symptoms. I am worried and thinking all the time. This is pretty routine compared to my first baby so I guess I shouldn't worry :/ I have to wait till May 7th for my first appointment! I guess my doctor chooses to wait till 12 weeks- drives me crazy!
  • Well I am about 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I took six pregnacy tests that all came out positive.... I want to believe it but I just can't until I get a 100% positive from my doctor which is tomorrow... I'm scared lol
  • I have been extremely tired and nauseas since I was about 5 weeks. I only found out at 6 weeks that I was pregnant and I am now 7w4d. It's only cause of my mood and tiredness that I keep being reminded.....it definitely doesn't seem real to me though. I was told I don't need an ultrasound until 12w. So that I can see facial features and have a clear heartbeat so I'll be waiting till then :)
  • I'm 6 weeks today, I've been feeling great, until this morning, I'm so nauseous and praying I don't vomit on my commute to work. I still can't believe it, and can't wait for my sono on April 7th.
  • FTM It doesn't feel real either. I'm 7 1/2 weeks today. Monday the 31st of March we go for my first appointment. Definitely scared and nervous. I just wish this all day sickness would calm down a bit. I've tried basically all of the remedies and nothing works. I feel so drained and sick I had to leave my job. Good Luck Ladies.
