PSA ****Breech babIES*****

Seen a lot of posts about breech baby position and ladies being worried.  Don't concern yourself with baby being breech until 36 weeks!  It's ok, there is still plenty of time for baby to flip over.  Even if at 33 week they did flip head down, they could flip back around and then around again.  DON'T STRESS YOURSELVES MAMAS!

Re: PSA ****Breech babIES*****

  • Exactly! And being head down means nothing. Babies can flip within days of labor either direction. Start to worry when you are breech and in labor lol

  • Worrying about everything is just part of being mom =) But it's a good early lesson that you can't entirely control everything in parenting.

I don't particularly want a c/s, especially after having a successful birth already, but I try to keep reminding myself that at least I'd get that extra 2 weeks of paid STD as a consolation prize.

  • My guy flipped out of my ribs at 31 weeks... So relieving... Now he's like a circus performer and goes up and down and sideways all the time. Thennnn I got worried about his cord. Until I read that 1/3 babies have it on their neck and that their oxygen comes from the cord so no biggie and that's why babies can be born with water birth and not drown. Kind of cool :)
  • Good reminder and so reassuring to know there's lots of time left to flip / get settled.  I feel like this baby is a bit sideways or constantly changing positions most of the time.

  • Thanks for this. My son is currently breech and I spent a good hour yesterday panicking myself about a potential c/s.

We start mentioning it as providers at around 32-34 weeks, but that's mostly because the earlier a mom deals with it (chiropractor, optimal fetal positioning, or acupuncture) the easier it is to get the baby turned.
