I know loosing your mucus plug really isn't that big of a deal as you can still carry for weeks after so should I call my midwife and let her know or just wait until my weekly appointment and give her a heads up?
Personally I would wait but if you are really worried I think a lot of doctors have on call nurses that can provide you with guidance. Did they give you a number to call for questions?
Yea but only during regular office hours. If I called I would wait until Monday but my appointment is Thursday so I don't want it to seem like I'm making a big deal out of nothing.
I would wait, it's information she should know, but isn't something that changes your pregnancy. You can lose your plug weeks before labor, it can regenerate itself.
I told my OB that I lost mine at 33 weeks and 3 days. He wasn't worried. He said it will probably grow back before baby arrives. It's sole purpose is keeping things clean. He said if it comes out it is taking all the bad things with it. He warned me it might fall out again and sure enough it did the the very next week. 34 weeks and 4 days and no baby yet! Good luck!
I would wait, unless your having time-able contractions. People loose their plugs for weeks and it even regenerates. It does not mean much about labor.
My pregnancy book says that's not to uncommon, it did suggest refraining from sex though once it fell out, just because it's function is to well be a "germ plug"
I lost mine 3 weeks ago and no baby. I am 36.5 and hgh risk for pre term so it truly doesn't mean much. This is also my 3rd baby which online websites say "once you loose your plug if you've had a child before, it could be HOURS!" Yes- over 1000 hours lol.
Re: Lost mucus plug 35w4d , should I call the midwife?
Call if you start having bad contractions.
