Midwife question

Well I am on my second baby and I am in a different place than last time because I moved away.  I've never had a midwife only the doctor's attended to my needs.  This time living in Fayetteville, NC I have a new doctor and I have not met him yet.  I only have a midwife.  I am very curious to know my doctor and when can I meet him.  Even though I am only 15 weeks, I haven't not met him yet and I don't know when I will.  It's just really awkward to me not to have seen any of the doctors in the office at all.  What makes it so bad, they know nothing about me.  I am the one who asked for the glucose testing because of my last pregnancy.  They kept asking me why and I said well, when I was under the care of the doctors at Duke Medical University Center, I was tested early.  So with that they went on and had me tested.  Low and behold I flunked it.  So they gave me a three hour. Don't know the results for that one yet. I just feel that they have not made an effort to get to know me at all and they forget stuff.   I have in my heart to change doctor's but I hate going through the stress of trying to do that.  Anybody have any suggestions or advice?

  • I only have a midwife as well and they will be the one at delivery. There will be a doctor on staff if anything goes wrong, but if it's clear sailing I won't meet them. The only time I will see a dr is during morning rounds- fingers crossed!
