Feeling him move & question!

i am 19 weeks tomorrow and feeling my little guy move, so that's wonderful. My question is, when should I start to feel bigger more prominent movements? right now I only feel him when I'm sitting or laying down. And usually only a few little jabs and then I won't feel him for a while. I'm a FTM so I'm just kind of wondering what's normal, and I'm looking forward to bigger movements!

  • It's different for everyone :) I'm a FTM and will be 20 weeks tomorrow. I've been feeling my little girl since about 15 weeks, and she's kicking much harder now. Mostly lighter movements with some hard jabs thrown in.

  • I think I'm starting to feel lighter movements too, but just not 100% sure. Sometimes I just feel like a low rumble or something that I THINK might be him moving, but smaller movements? I can't be sure though! The only ones I know for sure are the random little jabs! Haha
  • It's such a wonderful feeling to feel the baby move! This is my second and already they are different! My daughter was like a little dancer/fighter in there and would give big movements, whereas this baby seems more mellow and movements are smoother. I guess what I'm trying to say is that each baby is different and I don't think there is such a thing as "normal" movements, just keep being in tune with your body.
  • Likes everyone has said this far, it's different with every pregnancy. Just remember, baby still isn't very big right now as still has a lot of room in there. As baby grows, before he/she gets too crowded, the movement typically gets gradually stronger and more prominent. Other people still may not be able to feel your baby from the outside for a month or two.
  • My OB said they start doing kick counts around 29 weeks so I'm assuming the movements should be more constant and strong by then :)
  • Thank yall!!
  • I'm almost 20 weeks and I'm not even sure if I have felt movement. Maybe I just don't know what it's supposed to feel like. This makes me nervous. My next appointment is Tuesday so will find out what's he's doing in there then. I am heavier and I read that some times it takes longer to feel but this long?

  • I have just started feeling him moving around in there and today I got some great kicks! I was just using my fetal Doppler and actually saw my stomach move! It's so exciting esp since I have anterior placenta.. I'm 20 weeks.

My experience has been exactly the same. I'm never 100% sure it's the baby until I feel a tiny jab lol
  • Being my fourth pregnancy I was feeling my little boy move for weeks now! Almost 19 weeks and starting to identify kicks from movements too! Hasn't stopped all evening and won't be long before my hubby will be able to feel fro outside if say!
