DIY waxing

Does anyone DIY waxing? I got a hard wax kit and I'm going to give it a go. Any advice before I get into it?

Re: DIY waxing

  • Yikes! I've tried it on my girly bits (just the outside, like a closer bikini wax) and its not worth it! Since you're doing yourself, you're hesitant, even if you don't think you are, and you end up not getting as much as a pro waxer and having to go back to the same area again and again. Legs, tho? Easy. Go for it.

  • TMI and totally embarrassing but I get hair around my belly button and it makes me crazy self conscious so that's what I want to do more than anything!
  • Adding - if you're going to try your bikini area, start at the very outside and work your way in. That way if (when) you give up, you don't have semi bald patches in your bush

  • I tried it on my husband's back. He has just a bit more than peach fuzz that bothers his during pool season. It left horrible red bumps for 3 days. Good luck.
  • This doesn't give me much hope
  • On your belly? Probably do-able. But remember your skin is more sensitive because of baby, so you may have some skin irritation

  • I wouldn't be able to do it myself BUT... I did go get a full Brazilian the other day. Holy hell did that hurt! You're way more sensitive than you think down there!
  • I can't even see down there! Haha!

Same! I'm shaving blindly right now. I can't even imagine waxing!

  • Last pregnancy o had a bad reaction to waxing, I would do a small test patch first just in case. It was not fun and looked bruised for weeks.
  • So I did a few body parts last night and it wasn't terrible but I needed to put it off and try again today because the wax was way to hot!
