"Your tummy has outgrown your boobs!" Umm...

A work acquaintance has taken it upon herself to update me on my weight/size gain every week. Today she proudly announced that she was right a few days ago, that my stomach really HAS grown bigger and outdone my boobs. Does she want applause?? Should I just smile and carry on?

  • Human Resources. (Totally inappropriate and just plain messed up!) :)
  • My mom has told me both that1. My boobs are big (ya think?) and 2. She can tell I'm having a girl because my butt is flat. Sigh.

Ooh, ooh. I had a regular at the bar tell me my ass was disappearing as my belly got bigger. First - she's been looking at my ass? And second - is it an OWT that losing the butt means a girl? Interesting... I hadn't found that one

Yeah when my mom said it, I was like "is that even a thing? I've never heard that!".
  • People say shit and stupid comments that are hurtful. They don't think before they speak. Its like verbal diarrhea, it just flows out. They need to ask themselves "will this hurt someone's feelings?" If yes, then don't say it!
  • My bf always tells me my boobs look smaller since my belly has grown. Gee thanks dude
  • My mother in law told me I was getting fat... odd thing is I barely had the tiniest belly at the time...
  • Thanks for all the responses!

After I had my first baby, my grandma-in-law at the time came to the hospital. Immediately upon seeing me, she touched my stomach and reminded me, "See, I told you it wasn't all baby." LOVELY.

As PP said, wth do people think when they say these things?!

I'm 28 weeks and 2 days in a row I got the "sure there aren't twins in there!?" I think I'm sure thanks.

My 3 year old was rubbing my belly one day and then made his way to my boobs and told me there was a baby in those as well :) this is after he had just said I had the biggest belly he'd ever seen and I needed new clothes.

So along the lines of babies in boobs and butts. My husband just had gastric surgery yesterday, the night before we are at my folks and my 4 yr old nephew was convinced that uncle had to eat dinner next to him. I told him uncle wasn't eating because he was having his tummy operated on the next day. So he goes running up to my hubby and goes uncle your having a boy baby what's his name! I felt so bad for him but it was so cute.

I've gotten this several times from a coworker. Seriously?!? What makes people think that's ok?
  • Tell her to f# off before you eat her. Lol
  • About two weeks after delivering my first my grandmother said to me one day, "Oh! I can finally tell the difference between your boobs and your belly again."

    Thanks, biotch.
  • People are nuts! I'm just about 26 weeks with my 3rd and if one more person either asks if 1. I'm having twins (and when told No say, you sure?) Or 2. Comment how big I am, especially with such a long way to go, I may loose it!!!! Yes I not only feel huge but have a huge belly, I make big babies (this little man is measure almost 2 weeks bigger) and when has it ever been ok to talk about people that way, let alone pregnant women. Apparently people forget how emotional we can be!!! Anyway, you are all beautiful, carry those babies proudly and enjoy the rest of your pregnancies!!!
  • I can't tell you how many people say, "wow you look pregnant!" I say back, well it's a good thing I am, otherwise I might need some help ;)
