Movement

FTM..I haven't felt baby move the last two days. I usually feel some kind of movement once a day. I'm 25wks 3days today and as I sit here during my glucose test I can't help but worry. Shouldn't all that sugar I just consumed make her move? I'm sorry if this post annoys anyone : (

Re: Movement

  • My doc had me eat a little sugar and lay on my left side to do kick counts with my daughter.  Give it a shot and see if you can feel the little one.  And if you're really concerned, don't hesitate to go to your doctor or the ER.  I totally would.

It's ok, I actually went in on Saturday because she hadn't moved in 6 hrs, and that worried me.

Do you have an anterior placenta? That can muffle movements. Have you felt anything? flutters???

Drink something suuuuper cold and sugary. Juice, Coke, etc when you get home and then lay on your left side for 30 min-1 hr. You should feel 5 kicks. If you don't, then I suggest calling your OB office so you can go in and get baby monitored. I'm 25 w, 4 d and it doesn't hurt to see what's going on....

    Good luck.

  • It never hurts to call your doctor if you're scared!! Don't worry about bothering them or feeling like you're overly cautious. This is why they make the big bucks. Better to put your mind at ease, especially if they can do a doppler or sonogram to completely reassure you.
  • I agree with @Mommaswizz - if you are concerned, don't hesitate to call your Dr. Even if it turns out that everything is fine and was unnecessary, you will still end up with peace of mind because you acted. That's what the drs are there for. To take those calls and be there for you if you have a concern. Good luck!

  • I would call too if you're worried, but try not to stress. I am 28w1d and there was a good week or so when I didn't really feel him move around as much. Now I feel him all the time. Before it was just at night, now it's constant. He's still most active once I'm home though.

  • Call your ob if you are having concerns. I went through a week or so where the baby barely moved. Good luck!

You're not annoying!!!! I felt the same way this morning, ended up calling my doctor because I hadn't felt her as much the last two days. They had me come in and do a non stress test... Everything was perfect and the doctor said sometimes they are just in an awkward position! The monitor was picking up movement that I wasn't even feeling... So I knew I wasn't crazy! I felt so much better after going... And the nurse was so reassuring telling me to call anytime because that's what they are there for! Thank god because of course I felt like a psycho FTM overreacting!

Another thing my doctor told me... Our intestines are now up near our ribs so any sort of moment you feel down there is baby, so now that I know that I realize she has been moving more than I thought! Hang in there! <3

I don't know how to delete a post!!!! Oh well here's a second one for no reason! I meant to add to the last post I'm 29w3d.
  • After 28 weeks if you feel less than 6 movements in 2 hours I was told to call and go in for monitoring. :)
