What does your dream nursery look like?

Hey Bumpies,

The Bump is excited to be partnering with interior design firm Laurel and Wolf to bring you inspiration for baby's nursery! Since we know many of you are in the midst of dreaming up nurseries, we want to hear what kind of space you'd love to see the designers put together first.

Is there a particular theme, color scheme, or style you're obsessed with that you want the designers to bring to life and show you how to get the look? Let us know what kind of nursery you imagine your LO pitter-pattering around in and the designers at Laurel and Wolf will create a dream nursery based on your ideas!

Thank you!
The Bump

Re: What does your dream nursery look like?

  • I'm in love with having a boy nautical nursery! I would love some inspiration. We can't start on our nursery until the end of May when we move into our new place.

  • I agree! Nautical theme but not the typical navy blue and red- light blue and sand tones!
  • For me: no theme, gender neutral, great colors, good fabrics that clean up easily, and convertible furniture.

Aside from what it looks like, I need something I can do myself (without depending on someone else to help) and all materials/accessories should come from one retailer. We're growing babies and dont have time to drive/shop all over the place! :)
  • Pinks, Taupes, Creams. Shabby chic baby girl nursery. Ruffles, lace and rustic decor. Affordable but cute!
  • Nautical for a baby girl!
Our whole house has a nautical feel, so we wants to carry that through to the nursery. Having a girl means it has been challenging to find all of the nautical pieces we want, but with pops of pink (the walls were already painted a watery blue when we painted the entire house).
We have managed to find pieces here and there and I am so excited to see it come together.

I wasn't able to decorate a nursery for my son because we moved from a two bedroom apartment to a one bedroom 2 weeks after his birth. This time around we're having a girl and she will have her own room. I've been mentally designing her nursery for the past several months. After weeding through a ton of ideas I've finally settled on subtle girly. I've chosen gray, lavender, and cream with a pop of yellow for the color pallet. I want to incorporate a tiny bit of glitter and butterflies.
I'm so excited to start decorating!!
  • I am really loving the idea of red and black which I am trying to go for but nursery decorations all tend to be light or pastel. Idk red and black still are gender neutral but can't really find decorations that seem to fit that well.
  • We are doing robots for our little boy. It's lots of primary colors. We love it.
  • We had picked it two themes since we were unsure of the sex, we did lots of lace, and roses for a girl theme! Very vintage. But then we found out right at the end it's a boy so we did nautical. So far the dream has become a reality since we are so close to the end. We did light misty gray crib, with a whale comforter set, all the wall hangings we did are of anchors, captains wheel, and whales. We didn't get the kids version, we got the distressed items from khols! It is amazing how soothing it is! So I hope all of you made it to the point of bringing your nursery to life!!!!!
  • We are doing neutral and soft coral for our daughter with mid century looking furniture and a modern rocker that she can use later.
  • I'm going for a book/maps theme for a little girl. Here's my inspiration board.
  • We are doing a lavender room with orchid accents, maybe even a light cream with white furniture. We are doing a dove theme, with maybe a tree on the wall, oh, and I would really love to have a comfy rocking chair in there. I really want the kind of gorgeous nursery that is very Pinterest worthy. The kind of nursery I am always taking screen grabs of for inspiration!
  • Teal and grey, with a splash of yellow! Love this modern look, we're sticking with this colour scheme for our LO's nursery and I'm quite excited. Lots of chevron patters, and a few elephant accessories.
