  Definitely ask!  I had my first at 19w4d and that's when we noticed my cervix starting to funnel and decided to watch it closer.  Without that u/s, and the subsequent follow ups, I highly doubt I would have carried these babies past 24 weeks.

  Plus there was a significant size difference between my two at the time (and for about 2 months afterward).  It turned out little miss caught up and it was nothing to really worry about, but it could have been.

  My growth scans started at 23 weeks.  I had them every 3 weeks until 32 weeks when the babies were too big to measure.

  I think before the growth u/s, they measure in terms of weeks?  Not sure.

  I would ask at your next appt.

  I started the growth checks after my "big" U/S at 20 weeks. The first was 4 weeks later (at 24 weeks), then another 4 weeks after that (today at 28 weeks). Now they want to see me every 2 weeks...

  I had one at 20w then again this morning (should have been last week but things got screwy with the holidays)..
