Re: ***2IF Grad Check-In 3/12/15 With Congrats to Mommalawyer***
1. How many weeks along are you? 19w4d
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results, etc.)? Seems like every week I'm at one of the doctor's offices...soooo...3/16 - f/u a/s at MFM to get some additional pics of my little man, 3/18 - to the OB for what seems redundant considering how often I am at MFM
3. How are you feeling lately? Still dealing with groin / hip pain - MFM recommended I get a maternity belt. Obtained a prenatal cradle - seems to help but awkward considering the straps are visible under most of my maternity shirts (dear manufacturers - maybe some of us are not looking to show off the girls while pregnant - why is everything low cut???)
4. QOTW: How about a little DDT (Dear Diary Thursday) - anyone want to vent about what's causing them angst right now? Work is ridiculously stressful - my secretary is on extended medical leave and my paralegal is out for a concussion - so I'm left handling a whole bunch of things without my team. And - my OB is hounding me to pay her $500 in advance of the delivery of the twins - despite me explaining several times that when I reach my max out of pocket (probably in the next three weeks) my insurance will pick up 100% of the tab - so why should I pay her money to hold until July and then have to fight to get it refunded (this happened when we had DD - it took us months to get it back). Serenity now!

1. How many weeks along are you? 29 weeks, 4 days
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results, etc.)? Glucose Test tomorrow, Monday is the start of every 2 week dr appts, then at 35 weeks, weekly appts - this is nut to me, going by so fast!
3. How are you feeling lately? BIG! Sleep is just non existent, I pee way too much, but I LOVE feeling that baby move, and I am trying to soak in this pregnancy since it will be the last. (unless we magically get pregnant on our own without fertility treatments- wouldn't that be funny)
4. QOTW: How about a little DDT (Dear Diary Thursday)
- anyone want to vent about what's causing them angst right now? The other girl in the office is out this week, and I am left to do her job and mine. On top of that, my stupid office manager keeps giving me useless projects (busy work), because I have nothing else better to do right now. Thank god it is Friday!!!
Lots of BFN's & failed IUI's w/clomid and/or femara
Finally BFP with femara & t.i.- son born 6/17/2010
Started TTC again around when DS was 3ish
Lots of BFN's with femara & t.i & ovidrel
Tubes clear, S.A came back low motility but high count
About to switch to injectables w/femara, did one last cycle with just femara & an IUI with ovidrel- stupid motility was fantastic in the sample, but count was 700,000 AFTER wash! Had to sign a paper to even still do IUI- BFFP (big fat freaking positive) Go figure!

Macallan Loche born 3/4/15 at 12:46am, 8lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long. He was born at 40w6d.
So, it was Tuesday. I had my membranes stripped on Monday. On Monday I had contractions pretty much consistently all day, however they never got to be 5 minutes apart, prompting the trip to L & D. They stopped a little after midnight. I had given up hope. On Tuesday morning, I woke up, was still having them sporadically, but did not time them to do anything because I had seemed to have so many false alarms that I was just going to go about my day and do what I wanted. Around 3:30 they all of a sudden started. They would be 3-5 minutes apart, sometimes 1 minute. Then randomly a ten minute here or there. I called my doctor to see what she wanted me to do and she said to go into L & D. I told DH that we needed to get ready to go and it was rough because we had been fighting really bad all day. Frankly, I didn't want to go because it had been such a bad day. Anyway, we arrived at the hospital just before 6. Checked into L & D right away because my doctor had called ahead. Got undressed. They checked me, I was still only 4-5cm and 80%. I was hooked up to the monitors for a while to see what was going on. They did not quite admit me yet. The contractions after about an hour had really slowed down, so I had to make a decision on what I wanted to do. We waited it out another hour, still not much of anything. The on call doctor showed up and told us our options (which had been explained by the nurse before hand). I could wait it out and start walking, get the pitocin, or have them break my water. After much discussion and being told that the water breaking would make me dilate probably 1cm per hour, I went with that. The fact that DH and I had been fighting bad, I mean really bad, on that day made me not want to deliver on that day. I told the nurse in private what was going on and she said that she did not think that I would deliver before midnight. I opted to NOT get the epidural prior to breaking the water, HUGE mistake. My water was broken around 9:40. I started having REAL and STRONG contractions within minutes. The ones I had been feeling at home were a complete joke. I immediately asked for an epidural after the first one..... The pain was nearly intolerable. It took 45 minutes to get the epidural. Not to mention he was trying to do it WHILE I was having very strong contractions every 2 minutes. DH said that I went pale and was literally shaking from the pain. After getting the epidural TWICE, yes, he had to take it out and then reinsert it. Pain relief was on the way. This was about 10:30. Nurse said that she was going to come and check on me at 1:00 to see how I was. Nope. My body and baby had other plans. She came back in at 11:30 due to the baby's heart rate being not optimal. I ended up switching positions and that helped, but she checked me and I was 10cm at fully effaced by 11:40. So much for the 1cm per hour stuff. She made me take a couple of practice pushes to gauge where I was and after a couple rounds of pushing, she said that she had to call the doctor immediately because the baby was going to come much sooner than expected. She called the doctor and I spent about 20 minutes pushing. At that point, he was literally right there and we had to stop everything because the doctor was not there yet and they could not find anyone to "catch" the baby. The doctor finally showed up, I pushed for about another 10 minutes and baby boy was here! The cord was wrapped around his neck once, but not enough to cause any alarm or anything past making a comment about it.
We were home for a couple days and I ended up admitted back into the hospital. I was there for 4 days due to a blood clot and Endometritis. After several days of antibiotics, I was discharged. We are home now and BF is going well. DD has moved into the sister role quite nicely. DS sleeps like a champ almost through the night. I am over the moon and in love with this little boy!
Good luck to all you ladies for your pregnancies. Infertility is an absolute biotch, but every poke & every prod was worth it once I held him in my arms....
Attached are some pics!

We are switching our son to a new school in September because the current school's administration has way too many issues and I don't trust that they keep the kids properly safe. We've given it two years and it's not improving. Over half the class has made serious complaints to the school and to each other. But almost everyone is staying. I just wish they'd all stop complaining (to me). They keep saying there are no other options but there are plenty of really good other options. If they want to stay despite thinking their kids are not safe, that's their choice, I just don't need the stress of hearing about this stuff anymore.

I caught the flu and have been vomiting even with Diclegis and Zofran together. I'm taking Tamiflu for the respiratory part (horrible cough & congestion) and trying to stay hydrated with Pedialyte and ginger ale. Other than that, nothing I can do but rest and take Tylenol for the fever. If it keeps up much longer, I'm going to have to go get IV fluids.
