another ultrasound because they want better pictures of heart

We had our anatomy scan last month and the tech kept saying that she was getting great pictures of our little girl. Went in today for my 25 week appointment and the doctor wants better pictures of her heart. They didn't specify if they're looking for anything, just want better pictures :/ Anyone else have to go again for pictures of baby's heart? Anything they were looking for particularly? TIA!

    I had to have a follow up one done, cause they couldn't get really good shots of the heart. It could just be the way the baby was...the tech kept trying to get the baby to move by making me lay on my side etc, but it could just be baby's position making it harder to see. If they didn't give a particular reason why it could just be a precautionary thing. Like something that even if you may not need it's good to have anyway, just to see every possible angle. I don't know 100% it could just be to provide more detail for the doctor, but you could always ask when you do go again.

    I had the same thing and the dr said it happened all the time, the baby just didn't want to cooperate and they are looking for specific things that they can't see if the little one isn't positioned correctly! I went back four weeks later and they were able to get the pictures and everything was fine! Im sure if it was something specific, they would have told you! Good luck mama :-)

    Yup. I have another ultrasound in three weeks to try to get a better look.

    Yep, happened to me with both my kids -- I had to go back both times for them because they didn't want to cooperate enough to get good heart pics.  It's normal! :)

    I had the same because my baby girl wasn't cooperating. Everything was fine. So try not to stress. Good luck

    I had the same.  I was already there for 45 min and my little girl just would not move.  As my doc said, sometimes the baby is just uncooperative.  The next time I went in for the follow-up they concentrated on the heart and all was fine.

    I had a follow up one done b/c they couldn't get good pictures of the backside of babies heart. My doc assured me it was nothing. She just wanted to be thorough. I would talk to your doc and get clarification or reassurance for any concernes you have.

    Same as POs. My little guy was curled up and didn't want to budge (stubborn like mom and dad already!). So they needed better pictures.

    Talk with your doc if you need clarification though.

    Same thing happened with me and heart looks good after all. Tech said that it happens a lot. Usually they capture awesome pics of the spinal cord OR the heart. Unless Baby is really wiggly, hard to see both.
