I overloaded on fiber one bars, cereals, etc during my first pregnancy. I didn't really have any issues. Maybe just try to increase the fiber intake? or maybe drink more water(like we aren't drinking enough, right?)
Drink at least half your body weight in water each day. And don't be afraid to take something to keep you comfortable. Your doctor should be able to recommend an OTC solution. It's pretty common though with all the changes in your body.
I'm going through it now too!! It really is the worst! I'm too scared right now to take anything but I've been trying load up on apples, fiber one everything and water!! Nothing seems to be helping though!! Hope it passes soon!! Hang in there!! >:D<
I haven't been able to CONFIRM that I am preggers yet, but for the past couple weeks it has been AWFUL!! Gas, bloating, constipation. NOTHING helped at first (was drinking at least 100oz of water everyday, overloading on oranges and other fiber sources), but then I turned to trusty ol prune juice! Worked great after a couple days. I'm still having SOME, but it's much, much better than it was!
Still super bloated and gassy, and AF is now 5 days late (NOT normal for me(normally 28 CD like clockwork) but I did have a natural mc Feb 15).
---> Colace or the generic equivalent is safe! I take one every night with my vitamins. OB suggested it last pregnancy and I haven't stopped since. If it's really bad, you're allowed up to 3 per day. Just start slow, you don't want to be running to the bathroom all day once it finally does kick in.
I have IBS so when I got pregnant the constipation has been terrible. I eat groats every morning with different kinds if berries in it. Makes me go regularly! I swear by it. My gastro doc recommended them and damn do they work!
I eat an apple with the skin (thoroughly washed) or I eat prunes. You can buy the prunes individually packed 3 to a pack, they always help. Same with grapes
FRUITLAX!! It s a mixture of prune juice, prunes, dates and raisins , just look up the recipe! It s every pregnant woman's savior! I work at a school and the school nurse told me that they typically give it to elders in hospice, but is also great for anyone you suffers from constipation. YOU GOTTA TRY IT!
