I have an anterior placenta and although I feel baby every day now (a little over 21 weeks) it's still mostly very low and soft too. Like today, kicks/taps are all very low and soft. They feel more like bumps. But a couple of days ago they were stronger and up high to the right of my belly button. I think it's just what position LO is in at the time.
I'm 20 weeks and I'm just starting to really feel LO. It's still inconsistent and light but I'm sure in no time I'll be begging them to give me a break from all the moving.
From your description of movement felt it sounds like an anterior placenta to me (from my experience). If it makes you feel better you could call your OB and ask about the location of your placenta. I remember at my 16 week appointment they did an U/S to help locate baby's heart beat but never said anything. Then at my anatomy scan the tech goes "well you already know you have an anterior placenta right? How are you feeling movement?". Nobody had told me before.
Worth calling and asking and if anything you can ask about movement then too. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about because all babies are different and at this size depending on how they're facing movement could be softer.
Im 20wks. Stm as well. I feel very light movement. That is not consistent. Sometimes I do worry. I found myself poking around my stomach today trying to get a small kick or something. I do not have an anterior placenta. But Hope to start feeling more movement soon.
The only thing that was weird was in my anatomy scan at 18 weeks, the tech asked me if I had any bleeding during my pregnancy (I said no) why? She then stopped, but said don't worry the issue usually resolves itself on it's own 90% of the time.
Dr didn't say anything to me, I'm assuming she was talking about Placenta Previa which wouldn't be an issue since I"m a c-section.
Stm mom and I'll be 20 weeks in a few days.. I'm not sure if I've felt anything yet or not. When I think I have, it's been very inconsistent. I just want to feel baby!
I don't have an anterior placenta and still only feel soft pushes kicks. They're not consistant either. Today was the 1st time I felt her standing up. I'm 20w 5d today. I think it's really all about your child. My mom said I was really gentle while my brothers tried to kick and dig their way out lol
@nmo941 I think I feel mine higher and it can vary from sides... though I guess it's just all over the place bc it can be lower at times. I know it's fine, but I'm trying to hold off asking the doctor until our regular appointment next week! Do you find that some times it might be a flutter and other times maybe more?? I try to remember when I felt with my first and I thought it was now, I just forget how frequently. I have round ligament pain and back aches.. now I just want to feel baby lol
STM and my girl is really hyper, but when I want to feel kicks I eat a handful of candy or some really cold orange juice. It gets her dancing. Maybe you can try that?
I just called my dr to see if there was anything in my records about an anterior placenta, I was told I don't have one, but to remember that every pregnancy is different and that I probably won't feel definitive kicks until 25 weeks.
What I feel now is low and almost feels like gas bubbles popping. @dbecker84
Thanks for the info @nmo941! I will also ask next week (I've never been told if I have an anterior placenta- would that be something they tell if you do or do you need to ask?) I did hear that it's around 25 weeks that you feel more definite kicks... but everyone seems to feel them sooner. I guess we'll just have to wait and see and keep our fingers crossed it happens sooner rather than later!
@dbecker84 I would assume that it is something that your dr would tell you. I only called my dr to ask thinking maybe he didn't tell me because I was a STM and getting a c-section.
Ahh okay! Thanks @nmo941 I think I've started to feel some over the past few days!! Sometimes it maybe be a flutter, but other times it feels like baby really moving around and pushing! I hope it is... I'm using positive thinking lol!! :-)
@nmo941, I'm 22 weeks today. I feel like it's been very light/infrequent over the past few days (I hope I didn't jinx it!!) This morning I *think* I feel light sensations. The time I thought I felt more could have been how I was laying in bed on my side. Typically, it's all still light. How far are you?
@dbecker84 I am 21 weeks......very light as well, although she definitley has times of the day that she is more active like the am and pm and around lunch time.
Lol @nmo941 ... yeah I didn't wake up enough when I wrote that... I'm 21 weeks also. I felt some this afternoon while looking at nursery furniture online :-) Sorry for the week mix up! Glad you're feeling some movement!
Re: STMs and Movement/Kicks
I just thought I would be feeling more being a stm
