March 2015 Moms

NST

i was due on the 15th, I'm 40+2 today and I have not dilated at all. The doctos won't even schedule an induction because she said I am not a good candidate and could possibly need emergency csection of induced. FTM, going in for NST in an hour to make sure he's safe in there, so he can stay in there longer. I really hope he is doing just fine because I don't want to get induced and have to have a csection. Crossing my fingers >_<

Re: NST

  • okay keep us posted! thinking of you mama. try not to worry!

  • Everything went well he's doing just fine, which makes me happy, I still want this pregnancy to be over I want to meet my baby boy but id rather it come naturally and I'd like to be able to push him out and not get cut open. So things went very well I have another check up on Friday but hopefully I go into labor before the lol
  • Why did they say you aren't a good candidate for induction?
  • Why did they say you aren't a good candidate for induction?

She just said because I'm not dilated or thinned out, I have no progress so it could put me at risk of a csection.. She just kept saying not at this point, says she'll check next appointment but nothing changed at my 40 week appt so she just repeated her self
  • Have you tried evening primrose oil ?

No, I really haven't tried much except sex, pineapple and a lot of walking walking walking
  • i checked myself the other day prior to using it and wasn't that thin - started inserting 2 softgels at night for a couple days and now I can tell my cervix is reeeeeeally soft, didn't expect it to change that quickly to be honest!
you can do it orally too
  • Can you ask for an ultrasound? Maybe there is a reason there is not much progress. For me they found out that her head is to big to fit. Although I'm in a waiting game till tomorrow for some answers they are hoping I don't go into labor before my Dr's appointment.
  • I'll be 40 weeks on Friday. Went in for my regular OB check up today and my Dr sent me to the hospital for a NST and blood work bc my BP was high and I have swelling in my face, hands and feet. Baby is doing well according to the NST and while my BP is better now then a couple hours ago, we're still waiting on the bloodwork before my Dr decides the next step. I really don't want to be medically induced so I'm hoping he says I'm good to go home!
  • I know it's so hard to go past your due date. :( but it could be better for baby! Maybe your due date wasn't accurate . It's just miserable for us preggos haha. Best of luck!!
  • Thank you for all the advice, I had an ultrasound at the NST, and he is getting down there but the nurse couldn't really give me any info other than the fluid so I think I'd need someone who knows more about ultrasounds to know if his head is too big.. But I haven't been told he's too big at all in measurements throught the pregnancy. I thought about the date being off but two different techs and the doctor agreed on both ultrasounds had the 15th was right. So it could be any of those reasons lol I have another NST on Friday, but I'm hoping I'll go to labor before then, crossing fingers >_<"

Ps. I'll do some research on the primrose oil Ty :-)

No idea if they still do it this way anymore, but when my mom was pregnant with me she went overdue and when nothing was progressing her Dr sent her for an X-ray. My mom said once they did the X-ray they discovered that my has a pelvis shaped in the middle, between a woman and mans and that vaginal deliver would never happen. So they scheduled a c section without ever trying to induce and I came 8 days late.

Just a thought I've been wondering myself, as in if the shape of my pelvis will be the same as my moms.

Wow that's crazy, I wouldn't worry too much about you having it as well that seems like it would be a very rare condition.
  • typically they do not perform X-rays these days on pregnant women due to the huge rates of cancer that developed when this was a common practice. In fact an Xray is not a good indicator of the pelvic gap, partially b/c it's a 2 D image and the pelvis itself can move, open, ligaments loosen, etc...
