First off, definitely mention it to your doctor. I have read that heart palpitations and an increase in heart rate are normal during pregnancy because of the increased blood volume. Arrhythmias may be normal too for the same reason. Did you have them prior to becoming pregnant?
I'm not a doctor so I don't know what you're talking about too well but my heart likes skipping beats often. Generally when I'm tired stressed or had a big meal but sometimes for no reason. The doctor said that its ok, just to keep an eye on it
I have svt normally which increased in pregnancy, im no doc and its always recommend to go talk to them. My heart rate was well above 250 in the evenings for small amounts at a time. My doc sai because they go away and dont make me short of vbreath, no pain or no fainting there wasnt a need for me to be back on meds for it. And the baby was fine Talk to your doc hun! Wipes away any worries!
When I went to the ER, (totally different reason) the Dr said I had a murmur and said this was normal during pregnancy. Weird, I never had that last time, but who knows?
That was one of my first pregnancy symptoms! You have a lot more blood circulating through your body now, but if you're concerned then it won't hurt to give your doctor a call.
Im so glad i found someone with the same problem. Im almost 14 weeks, but my cardiac symptoms started around 7 weeks. Ive been seeing a cardiologist, and at 1st they thought it was an electrolyte imbalance or PE. But, after wearing a holter monitor and having an echo, the results show that i have a mitral valve prolapse. And multiple PVCs every minute. I would recommend following up with a cardiologist, just to give you piece of mind
I found out not long before pregnancy that I am orthostatic and have some dysautonomia issues that we are still trying to pin down. My heart races like crazy to get my blood pressure up. They don't know the exact cause in my case, but the palpitations I've had for years have increased during pregnancy, presumably because of higher blood volume. They did tell me it was fine in my case, but please check with your doctor just to find the source.
I got PVCs before I was pregnant, but I definitely notice them more now. They are perfectly normal. It's only when it's accompanied with light headedness/fainting should you consult your doctor or maybe a trip to the ER just to be safe.
Thanks so much for all your replies. I have an appt with my doctor tomorrow just to be in the safe side. I have never had any heart arrhythmias before so we will see. god willing everything will be fine. Thanks again!
I'm 12 weeks, and started having arrhythmias at 9 weeks. My heart rate was going very high, so I am now on a beta blocker to alleviate the fast heart rate. It is safe for baby, and mom. I work in cardiology, and it is not uncommon for this to happen to women during pregnancy. If the PVC's are bothering you I highly rocomend a beta blocker or anti arrhythmic medication.

What beta blocker do you take? I take one as well. I was on it prior to getting pregnant because of tachy episodes.
Re: 15 weeks- experiencing arrythmias
