Tired at work!!! Help

Hi everyone, I'm just over 6 1/2 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I just cannot get over how tired I am this time! I work full time and run around after my 16 month old son..I was tired most nights before I was expecting but now I'm in bed by 9.... I also cannot concerntrate at work past lunchtime I'm shattered! Any ideas on how to restore energy/feel better and just basically tough it out as I work in sales and my performance is monitored I'm worried it's going to start effecting my job :(

  • I still enjoy a morning cup of coffee for that exact reason. Also if your able take a short walk on your break sounds counterintuitive but you'll more than likely make it longer after lunch.

Happy and healthy nine months to you.

Thank you...I have cut right back on caffeine and I'm sure that's part of it!! I have one coffee in the morning and I don't think I could function without seeing as my son wakes up at 5.30 as its lighter now! Will definitely try and get fresh air more though...:)
  • You rock it mama!

  • Is it possibly to take a nap on your lunch break? The tiredness hasn't hit me yet but I already for see some naps in my future.

  • Fresh air and a short walk help me. High energy food for lunch.
  • I'm in your boat.  I work full time and go to school at night.  I'm so behind in my homework.  I have not found a solution yet but to get up and take a lap around the office and drink cold water (for some reason, that helps me), but it doesn't help much.  Just trudging through hoping it'll stop at some point.  I feel like I see some half day vacations in my near future....

  • I take a lot of walks during the day. And the stairs when i can just for a bit more effort. That being said, I totally fell asleep on a (very unimportant) conference call today...
  • I am in the same boat too. I work full time and I am exhausted all day long! I used to drink a cup of coffee a day, some times less, but I have quit for now (I'm sure that will start having coffee in the mornings again soon). What helps for me is lots of water (it makes me get up and walk to the bathroom often) and then a short walk at lunch time. I don't ever feel like going for a walk (I'm so tired) but I try to force myself. It usually helps, but I know my work is struggling too. :(

Also, I don't know about all of you but I work for a very small firm and we don't have paid maternity leave so I'm saving up vacation/sick days for that time, but I honestly think it might be worth it to use 1 every once in a while for a day of just rest.

Thank you all so much for your comments, I definitely need to get away from my desk more and drink more water. Although I get mat leave pay my company aren't very understanding..neither of my bosses have children so they don't really understand...I've even had the line 'your not ill your pregnant!'Thrown at me in my last pregnancy. I get to about 3pm and just cannot work properly...argggghhhh!
