Pain while walking

has anyone else experienced pain in their sides/belly while walking? I can't walk through the grocery store without feeling like I've ran two miles. It hurts so bad I have to stop and rest. I'm going to talk to my midwife about it Thursday I just was wondering if anyone else had something similar happen.

Re: Pain while walking

  • Welcome to the third trimester of pregnancy.

  • For me it's pain at my inner thigh area and sometimes pain underneath my belly. Also the vaginal area. I went to obgyn and she had me go on leave at 36 weeks because I can't stand up and down all day without pain. She said the head is in the right position for delivery and the weight is causing the pain. I use the motorized carts and a wheelchair I borrowed when shopping for the last two weeks now. It doesn't happen to everyone but I would talk to someone and get a diagnosis.
  • For me, the doctor said it was round ligament pain. The muscles around the uterus are extra stretched and the extra physical activity of walking around a store for hours at a time can cause it to be worse. She strongly suggested a belly support band. Each situation is different though so your best resource will be your midwife. I hope she has a solution for you on Thursday.
  • I am also in a lot of pain. It feels like someone kicked me in the crotch and I pulled my groin. I also use the motorized carts if I must go to the store.
  • Experiencing the same pain, chasing after my daughter, shopping and climbing the stairs is the worst. The baby is in position and my OB said he can't get any lower. The only thing helping me the past 3 weeks is a belly bandz support belt keeping my belly up so I don't hit my belly every time I climb the stairs. I don't have the option of being on bed rest with my 4yo so this will have to do! It is helping so I can get through the day. Third trimester is a blast
  • Thanks guys! I really don't want to go on bed rest but I'd love it if they would tell me the baby is ready to come !
  • Mine is my lower back.  I have back issues anyway but with all of the weight hanging off the front of me, my back has had it.  That and my feet, I never thought my feet could hurt so bad or be so swollen.  My legs look like pork loins with little sausages for toes, it's horrible lol It took my husband and I literally twice as long to do our grocery shopping Saturday night because I had to keep stopping to lean on the shopping cart to try to stretch my back out.
  • I just started having this suddenly last night. It's pain in my lower abdomen that happens when I stand up or walk around. I even called the on-call doctor for the first time in my pregnancy since it hurt so bad and was so sudden. He said it's probably pelvic girdle pain caused from the pelvis separating/loosening for birth.  My baby is breech, so I don't think it's because he has dropped or anything like that.  It hurts so much! I'm not sure how I'm going to make it 3 more weeks like this.
  • Welcome to pregnancy! Hang in there mommas and keep your feet up as much as possible!
  • Dealing with this too with 2 more weeks of work. Not sure how I'll make it but what can you do
  • With you. If I read one more post about exercise... Just doing basic things feels like a marathon most days. Doc says my large breech baby is causing some extra pain and fatigue. I don't go shopping alone in anything bigger than a drug store right now and I always have a list.
