Sharp pains on my right side?

Has anyone ever had sharp pains? It's down low, but higher than where I think my uterus is right now. It's not a stretching pain, it's in a very specific, it doesn't move. Moving doesn't have any effect on it. I'm waiting on a call back from the doctor, but in the mean time has anyone ever had this?

Re: Sharp pains on my right side?

  • I had a sharp pain when I walked in my right side, I also had pink-red spotting twice, got an ultrasound and bloodwork and everything was fine ! Dr said it could be just ligaments stretching or a cyst !

  • can definitely be round ligament pain.  I've had it too occasionally.  It's like a stitch in my side.  If it is persistent or you have other troubling symptoms, you should call your doctor.

  • I in week 10 and I'm just starting to experience that!!! I actually got online to post this EXACT post... I haven't had any spotting or anything so I'm assuming it is just more expanding and ligament pain but it is sharp... makes me want to lie down and not move for awhile.
    I'll be checking back here!!!
  • I was just at my doctors last week and asked about the sharp pains . She told me it was growing pains from everything streching out and my body preparing for the little one . (: so no worries bumpies .
  • How far along are you? When I went in at 8 weeks my doctor told me not to be worried if I was having pains in one ovary because before the placenta is fully developed, that is where the baby is getting all it's.. Everything. I did a little research at the site I found said this occurs until about week 10. If you want to research it further, I would look up corpus luteum. Hope this helps!

  • Sounds like round ligament pain, the feeling of those lower muscles stretching and preparing for your growing bump. I started having them more frequently this week, week 11. I understand you concern and of course you should check with your doctor especially if any spotting occurs.
  • I have the same problem and asked my doctor at my last appointment. She said that there was a cyst on my ovary that supplies the baby until the placenta is developed. She said it's totally normal and the cyst will eventually go away! I am 9 weeks and the pain is letting up!
  • Thanks for your replies! Doc said I'm dehydrated. It's such a specific spot that hurts, I'm wondering if she's just brushing it off. I won't deny that I'm dehydrated though! Liquids makes me feel sick
