comfy work shoes

Ladies, I work in an office and dress code is business casual and up to this point I've been wearing cheap flats from Target. I have really flat feet and I'm starting to get really bad calf and foot cramps. While I'm at my desk for the most part, I am in desperate need of some comfy, cute work shoes. Any recommendations?

Re: comfy work shoes

  • I buy black flats by the Mudd brand from Kohl's. They are super comfortable and last forever, good grip on the bottom so you don't slide if it is wet out and the cushion is nice. I'm up and down out of my office chair all day and moving around the office and my feet NEVER hurt in them!

Here is a link for the ones I have, they really are great and not too expensive with sales and coupons. https://m.kohls.com/kohlsopenapi/productmobile.html?productID=1380111

You know what? I'm gonna piggyback on this thread and ask our ladies who work on their feet for good shoe recommendations. I work part time, but I spend the whole shift (anywhere from 5-9 hours) on my feet. I already had flat arches, and I can really feel them ache after about 4 hours or so. Even with some insoles that are supposed to help with arch support, its pretty painful. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

ETA - thanks to the OP for asking about this. It didn't even cross my mind. I'm such a space case sometimes! :-/

  • @mellymar absolutely feel free to do that....my lower back and hips kill me (I think it's sciatica). I don't know how you stand that long, I would die! I talked to my doctor and she said she wore tennis shoes her whole pregnancy, but unfortunately that's not an option for me. Any recommendations on any comfy shoes for those of us on or off our feet sounds like a great idea to me! I'm just praying I'll be able to wear flip flops and sandals come warm weather, I'm a southern country girl who would go barefoot 24/7 if possible, but I'm starting to think I'm going to need the support of shoes more often
  • I spent a good chunk of change on a pair of Danskos and they are worth every penny. I have flat feet and chronic back issues... These shoes help a ton.

  • I actually have some flip flops with a little wedge in the arch that are amazing for arch support. I just can't wear them at work, of course. And hopefully by the time its flip flop weather my feet won't have swollen over the edge of these shoes, lol

  • Tieks are the most comfortable "dressy work" shoes I have found. I absolutely love them!
  • I bought some good wedges back in December from JCPenney and have been sooo happy with the support they've given me! The nice thing about them is they can very easily be dressy or casual. I definitely recommend looking into wedges! :)

  • I'm always a fan of aerosoles!
  • Danskos are the best IMO. With my first I worked on my feet 9-10 hours a day. I ended up having horrible swelling in my feet with that pregnancy so I had to switch shoes. Made me so sad. I ended up getting a pair of Dr Shoals (sp?) shoes from Walmart, which were fine. I stretched those puppies out so bad.
  • I have a couple of pairs of Dr. Scholl's flats that are super comfy and cute. They have great support plus cushioning. Got them at Famous Footwear but have also seen them at DSW. I have a hard time with most flats because they are too flat- no support! And that was before I was pregnant. Also just got a pair of Born from Nordstrom Rack...supportive, comfy and look good for work.
