Anyone feeling guilty about what you did before you found out you were pregnant?

Just me?  This baby was a surprise so I drank a few times and had dental xrays done.  Also was taking Xanax pretty regularly.  I know what's done is done but I can't help but feel guilty and worry about it.

I feel that way too..my husband was a smoker and stopped the moment he say the test but he was constantly smoking around me and had felt terrible since he found out we are expecting and feels like if something is wrong with the baby it will be his fault..which I didn't tell him that it was only the size of a poppyseed when we found out but I have been trying to get him to quit for months lol and we do a lot of parties and we were both drinking a lot...
  • Don't worry! I think most of us have been there! I have two healthy and one on the way and I was for sure hung over when I got a BFP with my sone who is now 5 perfect!
  • You can't feel guilty about what you didn't know.  I got hammered the night before I got a BFP with my first, and she is happy and healthy today!

  • I feel guilty! We found out we were pregnant 2 days after our wedding while we were on our honeymoon. So of course we had champagne on our wedding night and i a glass of wine the night before. This is our first and i cant help but be nervous about practically EVERYTHING.

  • When I got my bfp, I was at the dr office to have a saline u/s to do a biopsy of my uterus bc my period had been non existent after my mmc in July 2014. After they explained HOW they were going to this horrible little procedure dh assured me that shots of whiskey were in order after it was over. Then doc popped in and said they were canceling the procedure bc of the bfp, so dh was quick to remind me that the whiskey was out, although it probably would've helped my nerves at that point!
  • I had two drinks out with friends a few days before my BFP. I initially felt guilty when I thought about it, but now I'm just trying to keep it in perspective.

Nope. I figure I can't change the past, so why dwell on it especially when I know it will make me crazy. The only thing you can do now is make sure you're doing everything right now that you do know.

  • First time and this time right before I found out I was pregnant I had really good sushi and a couple of drinks. Which is funny because I rarely drink lol. My 16 month old is a happy and very healthy boy. No worries. At first they are just cells dividing and so small it is ok, but I think once you know, you Should stop all of that.
  • When I got my BFP for my daughter I had just had a girls weekend and went white water rafting, hiking, and bar hopping (drank my face off) and was mortified that I was like a week pregnant but didn't know it. My doctor assured me that it was fine and explained that at that early there was no real chance that baby would be effected. She even encouraged my husband and I to go to dinner and toast with champagne to celebrate. My daughter is completely fine and has been hitting all her milestones on time or even early!

  • I had dental X-rays done 3 days after my guesstimated conception date... Boooo!
  • Husband and I smoke regularly and I usually have a glass of wine or two (or more) after work. We both felt terribly guilty after finding out. This is our first and it definitely makes a girl nervous.
  • I had the most amazing margarita the night before my bfp. No regrets, and no worries! Taking care of yourself and the baby once you know is pretty much it. I also follow TTGPs motto of "drink til it's pink".

  • @MamaFleck14 I think I'm more in your boat on this one! Before I knew I definitely had my fair share off cocktails and happy hour. It was typical to come home from a long day at work and share a bottle of wine easy. So it's been a hard transition since but obviously worth it. Just adds a bit to the emotional roller coaster. Everyone will be fine as long as doing the healthiest go forward! Best wishes to you all
  • Yep total lifestyle change happening here. Quitting smoking those nasty cigarettes. Hard to do bc i have so much stress. Changing my job status to part time to allot more time to take care of me and this little being. I need more sleep. Taking my prenates everyday as well as fruits a veggies dvery day and less processed food
