March 2015 Moms

38 weeks and I feel like I'm going to pop!!!!

I'm 38 weeks today with my second baby. I feel like my skins just going to pop! People keep saying it looks like twins, I thought I was huge until the past 7 days happened and aren't slowing down. With my first I don't remember feeling this way at all, I have seven days until my schedule c section and I don't feel like I can make it ....any other mommy's feel the same miserable way?!?

Re: 38 weeks and I feel like I'm going to pop!!!!

  • FTM due March 30th. For the past two days I've been feeling really impatient and irritable, not myself at all. I know my hormones are all out of whack and I too feel like I'm just going to POP at any moment but I have had no true signs of anything happening. Baby girl has been low for about a month now, and I'm almost fully effaced with no dialation, but I've been told that none of that matters that labor can begin at any time. Yeah, so I am feeling a bit miserable, we just need to try and relax the best we can. I hope you feel better! :)

  • I'm right along with you... I'm 38.5 weeks and I've changed to anxious/irritable. I feel nauseated, some contractions but they fade to BH and terrible back pain. She's so low now I feel like I have to hold my cootch to keep her in lol...
Have midwife appt. Today.... I'm due the 25th...
    We are almost there ladies....
  • I mostly just read these forums...but am also a FTM at 38 weeks.  I am uncomfortable, but I also don't feel like there's any effort on the baby's part to be born just yet.  I get the feeling that baby is going to hang out until the 3/31 due date, and then ponder making a move.  I have worked on distracting myself with work, sleep and creative activities.  Sometimes it helps...sometimes, not so much! :)  Soooooon!!
  • @kalahgurl I fortunately don't feel that much pressure but I do feel the drop of the baby pulling on my upper abdomen ...it hurts all the time lol! I just keep trying to sleep through it! Lol its not working
  • I'm 38 weeks as well! I feel like I'm going to "pop" as well! He is now over 8lbs! Lots of kicking, movement and a few pains in the front on and off. So wanting for him to arrive like now! It's extremely difficult to breath, walk, sit, or sleep. I keep telling myself everything has an ending and this pain will end soon!
  • Yes! I'm 38 weeks and I feel like I could pop any minute!! I'm uncomfortable/in pain at times. I'm more irritable. I snapped at my husband when he asked what was for dinner! Why must these people eat 3 times a day! Haha :D my husband and daughter are sick. So I'm irritable in a house with hungry sick people. I just keep telling myself deep breaths. You will have this baby eventually!
  • I am 39 weeks pregnant and due for a c-section this Thursday (although who knows, my son may decide to come sooner). I am in pain, getting no sleep, taking care of a giant puppy and a kitten who was just spayed, trying to clean the house and do any last minute things I can. My husband can look at me in a way I don't like and I snap at him lol. He told me to pop the baby out now so I'm not so grumpy. I'm so close to giving birth, but beyond antsy, eager, and excited for this little nugget to just come out already.
  • 39+1 here... STM ... I too don't remember being QUITE this uncomfortable with number 1. Heck, I taught horse riding lessons up until I went into labor 3 days late with my first. Like literally, has just arrived to teach a lesson and had to go home to have baby! Haha. Today I could hardly even walk around the barn.. And I'm in miserable pain now.

Doctor says that's normal, second time around things hurt more . Yay. Haha
  • Haha yah and this time we have little ones to take care of!
  • Had my midwife appt. Today. Turns out the tightness and holding my breath during wasn't her moving but actually contractions and I'm getting them consistently. Who knew? Am I the only ftm who's clueless... midwife anticipates her this week. She's low and in loa, the ideal position FINALLY. Contractions, lower back pain, "clearing", and menstrual achiness... ugh. Come on baby girl.
  • @kalahgurl I'm a FTM, too, and despite all the articles, books, birthing classes, etc. that we get, I am afraid that the only thing I know for sure is that I am completely clueless about what this is supposed to be like. Then again, after hearing from so many of my friends about labor with their second babies being so different from their first, I think we can rest assured that we are not alone in our cluelessness! My SIL had her first pretty quickly, but fairly standard labor. Her second she had contractions for two nights, then started getting regular contractions that quickly went from 10 to 3-5 minutes apart. She got to the hospital and delivered in 1 1/2 hours. Good luck with your baby girl!
  • @AGM0616 isn't it funny? You can read all you want, but in the end it's all unique to you. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was already 24 weeks... symptoms mixed with irregular cycles, flay stomach, and already existing nausea. Then I just popped. Tomorrow I'm 39 weeks and it's just flown by... good luck to you... enjoy these last moments... in the end we will KNOW when our babies are coming, even if it has to be when we crown lol... so to all clueless Ftm, much love!!!!
