so I walked on my elliptical the other day for the first time in awhile, and my stomach for really hard and my back starting cramping (like a muscle cramp). Was i having a contraction or what?
I'm not a doctor so I can't be sure, but it sounds like it was a contraction. If you feel this sensation repeatedly over a period of time, call your doctor just in case.
Ok. Thank you. It's my first baby so not 100% what they feel like. I want to start walking but don't want to go into premature labor.
Yeah, this is my first baby too so I definitely know how it feels to be uncertain about things! From what I've seen on here and from what I've been told by my doctor, the super tight abdomen is a sign of a contraction. I haven't had any pain associated with them yet, but the tightness is definitely a weird sensation to me, although, again, it's normal for contractions. You mentioned that you were on an elliptical - maybe you were using it a little too intensely? Now that the weather's getting nicer, I want to go for walks around my neighborhood, but I'm not going to do anything that's any more physically demanding than that, since I haven't been very physically active in quite some time and 2.5 months out from EDD is not the time to kick things up a notch haha
Yea for sure. I'm going to start walking outside so maybe that will be better on me. I just want to get my heart healthier so I can handle giving birth.
Was it painful? It could have been a Braxton Hick. I'd call your Dr just to make sure!
Agreed - to clarify, the contractions that I've been experiencing have been Braxton Hicks contractions, not "oh crap I'm going into labor at 28 weeks" contractions
