What to drink...

I have been drinking alot of water but I'm getting really tired of not having anything else... I was a diet coke adict before I found out was pregnant... I'm having serious withdrawals... lol.... I haven't had one since I found out and I'm 6w/2d.... what else is safe to drink other than water... I need to have something to mix in with my water...

Re: What to drink...

  • Do you like soda water? I add lime to mine.. I used to drink a lot of coke and I found the fizz in the soda water helped me kick the habit :)
  • Loading the player...
  • I still drink soda, but have completely limited myself. Also, pellegrino is amazing! I personally don't like plain soda water, grapefruit and blood orange are my favorites. Also, maybe getting the water add ins- like mio. And always just adding frozen or fresh fruit makes it amazing :)
  • I'm drinking a lot of teas. Mainly ginger tea because of morning sickness lol.
  • Check out getting some decaf teas. Crystal light has some great flavors to add to your water too.

I'm a diet Pepsi drinker. Up to five a day pp. Now down to one can a day. Two a day on weekends, one is caffeine free. Only other thing I drink is water
  • I gave up soda for Lent, before I found out I was pregnant, so I've been drinking a lot of lemon water and tea.

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I've been drinking the sugar free koolaid. There's lots of different flavors so you don't get bored. It's really is good and gives me the sweet I crave without having to eat sugary foods. :)
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Try infusing your water with juicy fruits like pineapple, watermelon, etc. you can also use mint and lemon... Get creative!

Water with lemon. Or the true lemon packets. Occasionally Crystal Night natural stevia packets.
  • I've been making cucumber infused water and drinking the Naked fruit juices/smoothies.
  • I gave up soda for Lent, before I found out I was pregnant, so I've been drinking a lot of lemon water and tea.

I gave pop up for Lent too! I have been drinking sparkling water, I like the Kroger and Meijer store brands. I am also drinking iced tea in moderation. I find I drink more water if I have a fun cup or bottle to drink out of.
  • I've been drinking V8 juice, the Spicy Mango and the Spicy V8. I've also mixed a cup of orange juice with a cup of diet sierra mist for something refreshing. I'm not usually a big milk drinker but now that I'm pregnant, I drink at least two glasses a day--usually more.
  • My first pregnancy craving was Apple juice! Lol so from there I'm trying to drink lots of juices. I always have apple, orange and currently a white grape w apple. Just make sure there a 100% juice tho. And I only drink water besides that. I completely gave up caffeine when I found out I was pregnant (a girlfriend of mine is a huge caffeine junkie and she miscarried her first baby in the first trimester so I've been scared to drink it) but does anybody know if the caffeine free soda is ok? The only one I've been drinking is ginger ale lol
  • @JitteryJill I'm pretty sure caffeine free soda is okay in moderation. The only thing you should really stay away from is the diet sodas because of all of the chemicals in them. They're so bad for you even if you're not pregnant!
  • I love seltzer or club soda with lemon and lime.
  • Soda water! Loving la croix
  • Caffeine is NOT going to hurt you in moderation. I didn't give it up with my first two babies and I'm not going to now. Just limit yourself. I usually have a coffee in the morning and water or decaf diet coke the rest of the day, only because I can't sleep if I have too much. Summer time is a free for all, I drink iced tea all day, like it's going out of style. My girls are happy and healthy and I didn't have to suffer from caffeine withdrawal.
  • Have you ever tried MiO? I carry my MiO everywhere with me. I am a coca cola phenatic and plain water just doesn't cut it. They have MiO fit and MiO energy, but I highly recommend the regular MiO. Berry Grape is my favorite and I just give about a squeez and a half in my water bottle and it good to go. You can find it in the isle with like juice boxes/water bottles :)
  • Thanks for all the great ideas!!!!
  • I use Mio Fruit Punch flavoring in my water when I get tired of the bland taste. Pelligrino actually sounds quite tasty right now!
  • I drink la croix water even when not pregnant. I love the flavors especially grapefruit and it gives my soda fix with the fizz

I was craving Coke tonight!! I felt so bad, but I had to have a few sips of it. I'm having a drink aversion to my favorite seltzer drink that I'm normally addicted too. It tastes like black cherry. Thanks for the tips on MiO.Where can you buy it?
  • I've been drinking lots of sparkling waters, simply lemonade, and Snapples just became my fav but I wonder if they are bad for you or not? there's just a lot of sugar...
  • Whole Foods makes delicious Italian Sparkling Mineral waters - strawberry, lime, etc.
  • There are some good natural sodas out there, basically sparkling water and fruit juice. I really like Izze and Dry Soda. Izze has flavors like tangerine and pamagranate.dry has vanilla and ginger, plus other flavors. Just some things to try if you are craving soda. There are plenty of options becids water to drink!
  • I like the sparkling Ice brand flavored waters from Walmart. I drink one a day to give myself a break from plain water. The carbonation helps settle my stomach too. The lemonade one actually tastes a lot like ginger ale.
