  Yikes! On the positive side, they are talking about an entire year span of time, and only 5 people got sick. On the negative again, 3 of them died, so not a good ratio! It's so rare, guys. The CDC says the cantaloupe outbreak a few years ago was the worst in US history, and even then only 147 people got sick, 33 died, and there was one miscarriage.

  Oh, compare that to an average of 92 people a DAY dying from auto accidents, that's the point (2012 stat I got from the old Wikipedia). Hope that cheered everyone up :P!

  Or you just made people realize the dangers of ever leaving home! Definitely won't want to drive a car to go eat cantaloupe or ice cream!

  Well, I don't know that staying home is all that safe either! I was about to look up how many people died from their toasters last year but decided it probably is better to let it drop .

  I just really wish you hadn't mentioned sushi. I had successfully brainwashed myself into (mostly) forgetting about sushi. This listeria thing is madness. IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE!?!? ^#(^
