Has anyone else gotten a positive Maternity 21 test back... detecting Down Syndrome? I'm worried sick. I go for my amniocentesis in 2 weeks. Lots to read on this subject and the false - positive/negative results. I'll be 40 at the time of delivery and I know I'm higher risk as age plays a big factor in the testing and results/odds. Any help or advice is welcome! Thanks in advance.
(I did not have 1st trimester screening done or the NT neck measurements - not sure why... just clarified w/ my OB and she said b/c of my risk, them went straight for the Maternity 21 tearing)

My sister-in-law has Down Syndrome and she is an AMAZING person. I love spending time with her and she's HYSTERICAL if you really pay attention to what she's saying.
Good luck!

Just as an observation: I think it's strange that so many people on here keep saying they wouldn't have had testing done because it wouldn't change their decision to keep the baby or that they will "love it anyway." Many people get these test done, not to decide to terminate or not, but rather to simply be better prepared at birth. It helps to know what is going on with your child in advance so they can be ready to provide it with whatever resources are at their disposal whenever he or she is born. I just thought that needed to be pointed out. Testing can be done for more reasons than simply to determine whether to keep the baby or not.
