Anyone having trouble going?

I'm 75% sure I'm constipated. Sorry if it's TMI. Anyone know what helps.

Re: Anyone having trouble going?

  • If u can eat fiber it helps.., frosted mini wheats or prune juices helps, veggies with fiber U can take Metamucil which helps, also u can take collace which is a stool softner. I would try in this order. Make sure u are drinking lots of water.

  • Look up high fiber foods. Not all fruits and veggies are high in fiber, so find some good ones that you like. One of my favorites is lentil or black bean soup. Fiber supplements like the powdered stuff or fiber gummies can help. Drink all the water. Colace is ok, although some doctors don't like it for a long term solution. Don't take laxatives without discussing with your doctor because some aren't safe for pregnancy.

Tons of pregnant women get constipated. The hormones relax your digestive system so stuff tends to move more slowly and poop rocks can result.

  • Hey guys!! I feel like I have tried everything until the other day my friend told me kiwi!!! It's a natural laxative! I ate one for breakfast this morning and like 4 hours later normal bathroom "experience". Give it a try!!!
  • Constipation is for real! Not TMI at all... Heck, I want to sing to the world when I actually am able to go! Thanks for the kiwi tip, will try asking. Was having success with Fiber One bars but today belly decided that was a no-go... Became super naseaus.

  • Ugh, same here and it's miserable! Lots of water, prunes, kiwi, apples, apple juice and pineapple seem to help. For real though, eat about 5 or 6 prunes...you will have a date with the bathroom soon after. Hope that helps.
  • I find that eating yogurt every day keeps me going.
  • that's not TMI at all! I'm having the same problem! I think I'm having prunes for breakfast. :-(
  • Ive tried everything i can stomach, but morning sickness is dictating my diet at the mo. Ive always had problems going though, as i suffer from IBS. Dr told me to take senekot when needed as its natural ingredients, but i would check with your own Dr first, dont just take my advice, everyone is different. Please check before you take lol.
  • I was about to post about this too haha! Is it ok to take laxatives? The nausea won't let me eat produce like I used to... just gingerale and toast.
  • I talked to my MW on Monday and was told miralax is safe to take.

  • Been there!  I bought Bob's Red Mill wheat bran.  It is bran made into flakes. You can sprinkle it on yogurt, cereal, soup, etc. It gives an extra boost of fiber.

Also, make sure you are drinking enough water.  FYI...if you can't get past the thought of prunes, try eating a plum.

  • 64oz of water everyday helps the swelling of ankles and is super good for the baby and helps keep your blood pumping .
  • Metamucil is my spirit animal. Jk lol but for real it's the only thing that gets things moving for me if ya know what I mean ;)

I haven't been able to eat myself. Just water, crackers, and an orange. Every other day I can eat PB&J. I thought why do I have this problem...ahem... constipation... if I'm barely eating anything!! I upped my water intake. Nothing. I forced myself to eat an extra fruit or whole grain. Nothing. I got these breakfast bars called Belvita. The mixed berry soft baked biscuits have 5 grams each. I ate two. nothing. Finally I went to taco bell. Two bean burritos later... :))
